| Slipstream (25), | | July 17, 2009 My order was packed and shipped in a very reasonable amount of time. Arrived in flawless condition. Shipping manager Randy is helpful and friendly. Their selection, while not enormous, has a good number of brews that are not sold in my locale, and the prices (and shipping costs) are reasonable. I would gladly order from them again, if only because I love getting a box of beer in the mail. | hike20 (4), Iowa does not count - explanation | | July 10, 2009 Based on an order by placed by email.
I emailed my order following the guidelines at their site. Randy responded to me promptly and let me know what they had in stock of what I wanted, and gave me a realistic ship date. I expected to wait longer than I did, and he shipped when he said he would. The order was well packed and there was no damage to the order.
They had a number beers that I cannot get in Iowa.
Overall a very good transaction and I will be doing business with them again. It sounds like they can get a little back-logged in orders, so keep in mind your order won’t ship the next day unless you have good timing. I have no problem waiting a little longer for beers I can’t get locally. | | Bukowski9 (10), Piqua, Ohio | | May 31, 2009 On-line order.Went through quickly and had a good selection of things not available in my area.EXCELLENT packaging,no worries about broken bottles in shipment from here.I wish all the on-line stores shipped like he does. | | Hudspart (21), Hudsonville, Michigan | | May 23, 2009 Wierd beer store. Typical beer store for drain pours, but they actually have a really good selection. It appears that the 20 or so people in the store while I was there have only drank pale lagers in their life. About 1.5 hour round trip from downtown. I picked up some great Lost Abbey and Three Floyds there. | | ajm (160), Los Angeles, California | | May 13, 2009 Also foolish I have not rated this. This was much farther than I expected from the part of Chicago I was staying in - hilariously, I had to drive from here to OHare for a flight out. Real classic liquor store feel: dirtier street, dark, dark fixtures, some dusty bottles, haphazard organization. This was the first place I found Blushing Monk and saw Unibroue 2004. Very regular carrier of Bells and 3F. Selection seemed like only a small percentage was great stuff, as opposed to West Lakeview which is all headliners. Would likely skip this one and head to Binny’s or W Lakeview if pressed for time. But they have one of the friendlier online services, so my business will likely happen this way from now on. | maxa9 (1), , Washington does not count - explanation | | March 17, 2009 Not sure how to rate a beer store in Chicago from SW Washington state. The building could be a dive. I doubt they have food. But make no mistake - on service alone, you can trust Randy. I received two phone calls and multiple emails during the order process. This was my first mail order for beer. 6 bombers of Three Floyds Dreadknaught and two 6-packs of Bells Hopslam arrived this afternoon. Assuming they live up to the hype, I won’t hesitate to order from him again. | | markwise (56), 15 Minutes from Kuhnhenn in, Florida | | February 28, 2009 Ordered beer through online ordering system. Randy did a great job- very personal and honest service. He was backlogged when I placed my order. Very up front. Does his best to accommodate and make order as inexpensive as possible with packing materials. Incredible selection; much better American Micros than most available in Florida. Excellent. | | bhensonb (286), Woodland, California | | January 31, 2009 Pretty intensive personalized experience. Borrowing from ksurkin: "simply a great example of customer service via online beer ordering. randy is a great guy who was constantly in touch with me about my order. packing was superb (pretty much bomb proof) and the prices were reasonable. great selection of midwest beers we can’t get here on the -west- coast. --- definitely a pleasure doing business with and i will certainly order again." Packing was weirdly custom and highly effective. Very green from the recycling point of view. | | ksurkin (10), Norfolk, Virginia | | January 17, 2009 simply a great example of customer service via online beer ordering. randy is a great guy who was constantly in touch with me about my order. packing was superb (pretty much bomb proof) and the prices were reasonable. great selection of midwest beers we can’t get here on the east coast. thanks for finally giving me the chance to try three floyds, especially fresh. definitely a pleasure doing business with and i will certainly order again. | | satan165 (60), River Grove, Illinois | | January 4, 2009 just about the first store outside the brewpub to carry new three floyds. and the flagship FFFs are always here, fresh as possible and in abundance. about 1/4th of the store is craft brew and less then 1/2 of that is american craft. still, they have plenty of what you want and some of which you didnt even know you wanted. they also break apart 6 packs so you can buy single 12oz bottles. definately a chicago beer destination. prices are a bit inconsistent: they have some deals you wont find anywhere else, then other products i know i can get a buck cheaper at binnys. |
