| craftbeerdesign (16), Alpharetta, Georgia | | November 11, 2009 Dorn’s is a wine / beer / market... the store is not incredibly large... most of the store is focused on wine. They do have half an aisle devoted to beer and a few coolers. There is the typical macro offerings mixed in with a good selection of various craft beers and imports from Belgium. They allow you to buy single 12 oz bottles, but they price the six pack 1 x 6. So the Anchor Old Foghorn was going for roughly $18 for a six pack, which is ridiculous. I did find some Cigar City 750s there, which is why I went to Dorn’s. They had Marshal Zhukov’s Imperial Stout, Guava Grove, Improvisación (Oatmeal Rye India Brown Ale), and Bolita Brown... they were ~$12 each which is about $3 more than at Total Wine. They also carried some Avery (but not their demon series), Dogfish, Great Divide, Hoppin Frog, and others... most standard Belgians were available in 750’s. Good store to stop into when in Gainesville, but expect to pay a bit more... I haven’t made it to any other stores in town. | Bamos (3), Florida does not count - explanation | | August 12, 2009 Sells wine, liquor, and beer, with a solid selection of each. Staff is knowledgeable about beer, and their monthly beer tastings are great and well-attended. Mix-and-match sixpacks with just about any beer they sell. Best place in Gainesville for getting craft beer that I know of. |
