| Tim Webb (40), Cambridge, England | | August 8, 2009 Another one that missed the cut for GBG Belgium 2009. Great position opposite the city’s larger mainline railway station. Hotel upstairs. A few better beers are starting to appear but mainly ’safer’ ones, a bit like the menu. | | Bontus (13), Waasmunster, Belgium | | April 30, 2009 Funny thing, good weather and looking for a place to sit, I accidentally stumbled upon this place. Had a look at the beermap and was pleasantly surprised (obv). Had a Gouden Carolus Ambrio, proper glassware and service was good. Location is good to sit outside. Didn’t try any of their food. As Joris says, way better than average but not really worth looking up unless you want to try something new in Ghent. | | JorisPPattyn (21), Antwerpen, Belgium | | March 12, 2009 Located directly opposite the main entrance of the St; Pieters Station (Gent main railway station) - ideal for a quick one betweent trains. 8 taps, with one guest beer regularily changing. Modernish, clean and light looks. Service not bad, but calling me "young man" on my 51st is fawning. Reasonably interesting beerlist, including things as Verhaeghe Echte Kriek, Petrus Aged Pale, Brigand IPA, Buffalo Bitter or aged Orval. Hot drinks include several coffee-and-spirits. Kitchen not tried, lots of hot and cold snacks, but also full hot meals, including beer cuisine. Next door full restauration and hotel. Continous radio music, newspapers available. Not a top bar, but wààày better than the average stationbar!
