Stopped in on our way to HOTD Dock Sale. A very nice little place. A nice sampler on along with a BB brew. The food was tasty a nice pizza. A good price overall. You got a stop in and test it out.

This is a great place. Typical Oregon brewpub feel. Lots of their own beers on tap with about five that I haven’t seen around Portland. There food prices were really reasonable and their servings were huge (not to mention the sandwiches and brats we all got were amazing!). Our server was friendly and on top of everything. We had gotten there by around quarter to one in the afternoon and it was pretty quiet, by the time we left it was jammed pack with locals and travelers -- I’m pretty sure that I recognized some people from around Portland bars there.

Awesome little taproom and eatery just around the corner from Full Sail (Double Mountain was actually started by some Full Sail folks). Food is pizzas and sandwiches, beer is 4-5 regulars with 2-3 specials, which range from the mildly interesting to the ridiculously delicious. Double Mountain is becoming one of the hot new breweries in Oregon, and in little time I expect them to be well known nationally in the beer scene. Some stellar experimental and blended beers being produced these days. The taproom is a popular place for weekend skiers and travelers, so even outside of lunch hours it may be difficult to find a spot to sit, but for sure you will drink some amazing beer on your visit.

Small little pub about a block from Full Sail. It turns out this place is a bit bigger then I thought at first, there is a side dining room, but I wasn’t sure if they were seating people there, I just took a spot at the bar. The menu was small, but the sandwich I had was pretty decent. The beers were good, they had 8 on tap. Overall a good place, friendly staff that will talk to you about beer and the local scene. The prices were very high though, I was charged $4.50 for a half pint, so my tab was $12.00 for a sandwich and half pint.

College Beer drinkers ambience. Not a bad thing, just casual. I just went for a growler fill but was quite tempted to stay awhile. Friendly people and looks like a good place to spend some time. Beers (on tap) seemed to be their own brews which is just fine considering how good their product is. Food menu looked a bit high-brow for my tastes but they do offer a pastrami sandwich that would be one of my faves. Good weather includes a very informal cluster of chairs and tables outside which blocks the sidewalk. There was a good-sized crowd there for a Monday early evening. The barmaid was nice looking, friendly, and efficient. What more could you want!

Small taproom in downtown Hood River close to the other two, Full Sail and Big Horse. Look and feel of a coffee house with a side garage-esque lounge area for additional seating and darts. Interesting artwork adorn the walls. Clean and succinct. Nothing special, but far from bad. The beer is the reason to visit. Great hoppy offerings. Most of these beers are available in Portland, so there’s not a lot of incentive to make the drive unless you plan on hopping over to Big Horse, which has a great selection of beers.

Corner location with little character. It has some outdoor seating but brighter and clean. Only had one brew here but the ambieance is a but too bright for my tastes.

Start your day with driving 150 miles in a huge U-Haul filled your Mother-in-Laws belongings as she follows in her car. Where do you stop for lunch? But of course a brewery you have never been to before. Yes take her with you for the experience. Double Mountain brewery was the lucky winner and Hood River Oregon was the stop. I can say this for sure I did not make the maps nor the addresses for this town so finding this place was not super easy. We drove all over and then finally came across it with a bit of luck and help from 411. About one block from Full Sail the giant in the area. Can we say Double Mountain is putting it out there to compete with Full Sail. Another rustic look brew pub with great coloring inside. I am sure an old building that did something back in it’s day. Lets say it made fuggle binders or something. They are fairly new in the brewing game so they had a limited availability of brews. The server also explained it was, “Season” right now so it was a packed night every night with windsurfers. They drink everything the wind blows at them. Was able to try the 5 they had on tap and they where very nice. The food was also on a limited menu but what they had was very good. Pub fair the food hit the spot adding to my energy level for another 150 mile drive. Kids are Ok for the place and they have a kids menu. Hours are limited as of now for the weekdays so call ahead not to be disappointed and they are not open. I am pretty sure they are catering to the Windsurfers and when they blow in. Ha ha

Laid back place that can get pretty busy depending on the day and the time you are there. We arrived about an hour before closing and it was pretty tame. A small wooden bar, with several tables, a couple of couches and 4 outdoor tables. They usually have on about 6 or 7 beers. Haven’t really had a bad beer yet in the couple of times that I’ve been here. Have a small to go service with growlers in a cooler. Have not tried the food but it always looks tasty and well prepared.

Small tap room, very busy on a Saturday afternoon with the Hood River Hops Fests going on right around the corner. But the tap room is pretty standard - nothing fancy there. Were so lucky to get an unplanned tour of the brewery - kind of like walking around in a warehouse, but the beer are good. Had 5 different. If I come back to Hood River I’ll visit again.
