20 reviews for Chip’s Wine and Beer Market
| Elwood (34), Leesburg, Virginia | | October 6, 2009 I saw the ad for Chip’s in a local magazine and thought it would be worth a stop. Chip is very knowledgeable and friendly. A very good selection of beers and a decent selection of glassware too. Prices were good and you had the ability to mix and match singles of just about everything. Certainly worth a stop if you are in the area. | Brewbie (3), New York does not count - explanation | | August 27, 2009 Not a real easy place to find but worth seeking out. Chip is very friendly and knowledgeable. Very willing to help you out or just leave you alone to wander. Couple full rows of beer, mix and match sixer’s. Picked up a bunch of Bell’s I can’t get in my neck of NY. | | mwelsh13 (23), Maryland | | July 31, 2009 Nice little shop om a non-descrip strip mall. Beer is definitely a small area but nicely set up by style. Really good selection of singles to make your own six pack. Prices not overly bad for a beach town. Nice to see super fresh Two Hearted (bottled in mid July). Other nice beers like Stone Anniv, Old Rasp XII, and Sahti. Chip was helpful and a cool cat to talk to. Will go one more time to stock up on Bells. | | nearbeer (98), Knoxville, Tennessee | | July 27, 2009 [ Updated October 12, 2009 ] Best place on the Outer Banks for beer. Mixed sixers and good selection. LIttle bit pricey but that’s what you get with a monopoly in a resort area like this. Right at Mile Marker 6. | BR007 (7), Strongsville, Ohio does not count - explanation | | July 20, 2009 Visited week of 07/13/09. The owner Chip is a great guy. He is friendly, knowledgeable and patient. The wine selection is better than the beer but still, everything else pales in comparison in the area. They have a decent selection of micro’s to keep you going while on vacation. Nice selection of local brews but only a couple of the real good ones. Prices are very reasonable. | | Birdiebeagle (37), Perkasie, Pennsylvania | | July 8, 2009 Pretty good selection, actually for where I am at great selection. Chip was most helpful. They are very knowlegable and friendly. A good place to pick up decent beer in the outer banks. Very clean and easy to get to. | | tjthresh (76), Greenfield, Indiana | | June 17, 2008 My first stop in OBX. You won’t find any rarities here, but you will find everything you need to have a good time during you vacation. Forgot your glass? They have plenty to choose from. Good folks there too. Very helpfull. | | TheBeerGod (97), Newport News, Virginia | | June 15, 2008 Finally got in here on the afternoon of Friday June 13th. Found several beers that I have not been able to find back home. Service was very friendly. Offered up a box when I began to hit the 12 beer region. Picked up around 15 beers for about $54. That would have been much lower were it not for the near $20 Allagash Fluxus I purchased. Everything was reasonable and well laid out. Will definitely go back! | | arventresca (24), Greenville, North Carolina | | April 23, 2008 Mainly a wine shop with a decent beer selection. Beer is separated by style which is nice. Many micros to choose and you can mix and match. | | Butters (150), Virginia | | February 18, 2008 This is a beer mecca. HUGE selection of great beers. The staff was extremely friendly. I actually talked with the owner, Chip, about drinking at the Green Leafe Cafe in Williamsburg. He then loaded me up with several beers that I had never heard of including one of my alltime favorites, Holy Mackerel. You must buy your beer from here when vacationing at the OBX. |
