10 reviews for Corridor Wine and Spirits
| Cobra (23), In a van, down by the river, Maryland | | March 2, 2008 Another liquor store that was bought out by the Total Wine company. Huge warehouse, selling mostly BMC, but it has a somewhat decent selection of micros. No help, staff is clueless.
OK to shop for once or twice, but their beer selection leaves a lot to be desired. | | illinismitty (224), Nashville, Tennessee | | September 27, 2007 [ Updated September 28, 2007 ] This is right off the parkway exit, which makes it convenient if you are going from BWI into DC. This is your typical wharehouse liquor-wine store. Beer selection is just ok, with an average selection of singles. Nothing interesting for the beer hunter, but good enough to stock the hotel room (DFH, Rogue, Old Dominion, Penn, Avery, Anderson Valley, etc). Belgian selection is rather slim. Prices are slightly higher than Astor. I did not care for the location of the singles, as I kept having to move out of the way for the wine shoppers with shopping carts. What really annoyed me was that three of the four bottles did not scan, and the cashier kept having to go to the CS counter to get a price check. HEY BEER MANAGER- ENTER THE SKU NUMBERS INTO THE SYSTEM! Needless to say, the people behind me were not happy. Next time, I will drive the extra 2 miles to Astor. I like the prices and selection better. | | nearbeer (98), Knoxville, Tennessee | | August 30, 2007 [ Updated July 28, 2008 ] This place should be called Sins R Us. It is a huge store in a strip mall that sells mostly wine, but also as advertised the 500-600 plus beers (all sold singly!), cigars, chocolates and I don’t know what all else. Lots of US microbrews, but as some one else said, Belgian selection is thin comparatively speaking. Great place with pretty good service if you need help. Only complaint is the beer is located just to the left when you come in the door and I got run over by shopping buggies about every 2 minutes while I was ogling the beer. | | LaMichael (599), Colorado | | August 21, 2007 Big huge box store, filled with nearly every kind of libation imaginable. But for some reason they only have one mead. Beer selection accounts only for a small portion of the store, but singles, bombers, 750s, 6 packs and cases are all avaiable. Belgian selection is thin, but they have a few things not seem around the area, like Angelique and Diabolique and such. Found some new (to me) regional micros that I didn’t find around DC or at Astor. They also allowed me to break some six packs. Good store. Prices higher than Astor but lower than DC. | | hellbilly (64), scottsdale über alles, Arizona | | June 21, 2007 i’ve bought wine here a bunch of times. the selection is unreal...if they made the beer selection match the wine, corridor would be a powerhouse. | | hoplover406 (24), Crofton, Maryland | | May 2, 2007 This is predominately a wine lovers store. It is a convenient location for me, close to work. They have a lot of singles ranging from the the good(DFH, AVBC, Avery, Rogue, Victory, Weyerbacher) to the ugly (BMC). They have a decent selection of 750ml Belgians as well as German beer. They have a pretty solid selection(usually) but given the space they have they could do so much better by eliminating much of their cheap wines and stocking good beers. There are no windows on the warehouse type store, which is a good thing. Most of the beer is kept outside the coolers at maybe 60-65 degrees. You can buy much of what they have cold too though. You’re probably not going to find any rare or hard to find beers like oak aged stouts or anything, but it’s worth a stop if you are in the area. They do not have 3F, Stone, Bells, AleSmith, Russian River. | | ryan (12), Beltsville, Maryland | | May 3, 2006 Decent bottle shop that I would hold in higher regard if not for its proximity to Astor Liquors. Warehouse type layout, great wine selection. Printed buying guide listing the beers they carry. The carry a couple things that Astors doesn’t, 3 Monts and La Trappe (non-quad) come to mind. Very helpful and knowledgable staff. Was kind of neat to see a palate of Bigfoot last time I was there. Open Sundays (Astors isn’t). | lsymms (3), does not count - explanation | | April 21, 2006 Huge: grocery store sized. Good selection, not great, although good for MD. Prices not bad. Good place to spend a half hour browsing. | | lamas (12), Adams Morgan, Washington DC | | January 20, 2006 A large, beer distributor-like store. Pretty standard selection of micros. Nothing out of the ordinary and nothing I couldn’t have gotten down the road at Astor Liquors. Prices looked pretty good though. | | beachbum25 (53), Powellville, Maryland | | December 26, 2005 [ Updated August 19, 2007 ] I was suprised this place wasn’t listed as it has been open for quite a few years. Corridor is a large, Warehouse type store. It has wide aisles and the shopping is easy. I was there on Christmas Eve & the place was very busy, but the staff was still pleasent & helpful. Impressive Micro selection, full aisle 2 sides of six packs w/seperate singles & cases aisles. Singles, 6 Pack, & cases available on all micro’s w/some kegs available. Full selection of wines & liquors, as their name suggests:
Rerate-1/7/07-Place has been remodeled since first listed, looks nice & has a lot of beer, but nothing really rare, go to Astor for that. Good Micro selection, even better for wine & spirits.
