5 reviews for Country Garden 6-Pak
Gromis (3), , Pennsylvania does not count - explanation | | November 2, 2009 This place continues to surprise me. When I want to try a particular beer or style of beer, they usually have it. | | machfive55 (21), Columbia, Pennsylvania | | September 10, 2008 For ambiance I’m calling this a three because it is much better since they rebuilt the place. I will agree that the old place was dark, dingy, dive sub-shop. This is much nicer, it is well lit a pretty clean for your run-of-the-mill sub shop. Nothing special, but decent. They do allow smoking, not sure if that will change with the smoking law or not, just depends on how much food vs beer they sell. For service a 7, because one of the owners took time to talk to me about their beers and he was stocking and making some recommendations, seemed pretty knowledgable about beer. Selection, a 12, its good for a PA six-pack store...some belgians and micros that are tough to get around here. Nothing crazy, but just some decent, good beer. Food...didn’t try it, although I’m tempted. Value, a 5 because their prices weren’t great or off the wall and I really didn’t see them offering any specials or sales when I was there. Overall, its not a bad place, I’ll definately stop in next time I’m in Lebanon. The biggest thing that you will get at this place is a good selection of domestic micros that changes from time-to-time, so stop in often. FYI...the distributor that is next door carries basically the same beers but in cases...I’m thinking they are probably the same ownership. | | illinismitty (224), Nashville, Tennessee | | March 17, 2008 For some reason, I seem to go though Lebanon more often that I would like- for business reasons. Before I even discovered Ratebeer, I knew about this place. This is a typical mom and pop greasy food joint that happens to have lots of beers. Prices are typical for a PA bottle shop (high), but I always found goodies to take back to my hotel room. I have not tried the food, and no one has ever offered any help (although I don’t need help in selecting beer). It’s not worth a special trip to visit, but it came in handy for me. | | FooFaa (25), Lebanon, Pennsylvania | | November 13, 2007 [ Updated March 18, 2008 ] The place is really a hole in the ground. It’s a greasy, dive of a sandwich/Chinese restaurant. Virtually no ambiance, food is what you would expect (very average), no events, music, it’s can be noisy, but what makes this place special...it’s really the only place in the county with a great selection of beer. They have 200+ kinds of American micros and imports. Stone, Ommegang, Chimay, Rogue, Victory, DFH, and all of the locals. Really, the only thing you should expect going to this place is a nice beer selection. My only real gripe with them is their prices. They’re the only game in town, and they know it. | | Nejhleader (64), Lemoyne, Pennsylvania | | October 24, 2007 [ Updated December 23, 2008 ] a good place to get some singles, sometimes has some hard to find stuff, has food too, but i never ate there. |
