| TimE (130), Tokyo, Japan | | October 22, 2008 Yup, cozy, friendly and attracting a younger, slightly alternative crowd. Beer was great, but the best thing.... this place stays open past 11pm. We were served beer until midnight. Not sure how that happend, but it just meant more Brewer’s Gold to end the night. Great place. | | Svesse (92), Hässelby, Sweden | | October 7, 2008 Nice and friendly local pub tucked away just a couple of meters away the bustling Brick Lane with it’s Bangladeshi and Indian restaurants. Nice, friendly and knowledgable staff. Up to five real ales, a couple of Fullers and some guest beers (Crouch Vale Brewer’s Gold on my visit in August 2008). Inhabited by friendly locals. As stated, nice cozy and friendly place. | | pivnizub (273), Bochum, Porúří, Germany | | September 4, 2008 Friendly - almost suburban - East-end pub with with gorgeous Crouch Vale Brewer’s Gold on tap ! Friendly landlady, sleepy cat..... Good for a relaxed evening. | | bhensonb (291), Woodland, California | | June 10, 2008 Brick Lane. Ripper area. (The 10 Bells is 250 meters away) It’s the (almost only) pub in the area. Ales are well kept, and there is always one champion beer -often two. Crouch Vale Brewer’s Gold is always on pump. Very comfortable. Lanny (short for Landlord) the rescue cat is usually imperturbably present. Quite the local. Staff was pleasant and chatty. Tables outside. NB: Some years ago HASSRALE highly recommended this pub for the availability of award winning ales. |
