7 reviews for Flanagan’s Old Ale House
| Ryan82SM (26), Louisville, Kentucky | | August 8, 2009 Nice place with plenty of nooks and crannies, captures the old world pub feel. And the praise ends there. Service was not knowledgeable, I was given inappropriate glassware for both of my beers (even though it hung over the bar!), and I was handed a wrong beer and told that three beers I wanted were out of stock (this happened to those in my party about ten times). Selection was...alright. Every really good beer they had was in a 750 ml. bottle and mucho overpriced. I didn’t eat there, but the food looked respectable from what I saw. Some well priced beers, but nothing outstanding. Everything top notch was pumped up in price. A disappointment on many levels. | six13racer (2), Kentucky does not count - explanation | | August 4, 2009 Good place. Food is decent, beers are great. Many very good brews on tap. Food is good pub fare. I don’t think family friendly, but a good place to hang with the buds or my wife and I go there a lot. | | joeneugs (18), Livermore, California | | May 10, 2009 Great, fun location in the pub crawl part of town. Classic pub decor with a huge circular bar. Large tap selection with mostly good beer, not great. I got a sampler with a variety of nice brews from Dogfish head, St. Bernardus, and some local stuff. Service was fast and friendly considering the large crowd. | Ashleymi (1), , Alabama does not count - explanation | | November 21, 2008 They have recently put in a new beer cooler consisting of about 80 large format, high-end brews. The selection is quite impressive, the staff seems knowledgable, and the food is more than satisfying! | | allfreej (59), Louisville, Kentucky | | May 26, 2008 Nice ambiance, non-smoiking throughout. Service was great. 17 taps on the list, unfortunately out of Chambly Noir, but the BBC APA on cask was good. The food was good and reasonably priced. | xuhuckit19 (2), Cincinnati, Ohio does not count - explanation | | March 12, 2008 Native of Louisville I have frequented Flanny’s, the service is always great and I’ve never been to a bar with a greater selection of Beer than Flanny’s has. A must go if in Louisville, guaranteed to be a good time | | SpudClampDawg (43), Jasper, Indiana | | April 15, 2007 We had a great time at Flanagan’s recently. The waitress was more than happy to pour us their sampler draft special - five, four ounce pours for $5. I tried New Holland Red Tulip, BBC Bourbon Barrel Stout, BBC Bourbon Cask Ale (hand pull), Maredsous and DFH 90. The other top tier selections were Bells Double Cream Stout, Hell Hath No Fury, Oberon, Ommegang Witte and Unibroue Chambly Noir. We only had a quesadilla to eat, and it was very good. Highly recommended. |
