1 review for Sergio’s World Beers
| Ryan82SM (26), Louisville, Kentucky | | August 22, 2009 [ Updated November 23, 2009 ] It is an honor to give this fine establishment its 1st rating in Louisville:
Ambiance: Beer mania; tap handles, signs and beer paraphernalia galore. A little more "high energy" than the Shelbyville location, but still much of the same. The location is good (right off Frankfort Ave.) and the bar area is well done.
Service: Kinda slow, but mainly Sergio except at peak times (to my knowledge). Your best bet is to order at the bar as you walk in.
Selection: Incredible. A wonderful variety of world beers, from the commonplace to the very rare. It is not unusual for Sergio to have beers that are rarely found in America, usually on tap. His tap list is impressive and ever-changing.
Food: I have never had a bad meal here. Affordable options all over the menu. I prefer the small Cheese Steak, which is still more than enough food for most people. Good, but not outstanding here.
Value: Beers on tap top out around 7 bucks for premium selections, bottles vary by availability but are very fairly priced.
Overall: A fine establishment that Louisville is lucky to have. Try to go during off hours if possible. Sit at the bar and talk to Sergio: A friendly, if quirky beer lover with a passion for his work. |
