I was really looking forward to visiting this place, since the ratings seemed to suggest that it was THE place to buy beer in Colorado - however, I left a little dissatisfied - large liquor warehouse - great staff - the section of the store dedicated to quality beer is actually quite small - to their credit, they do seem to be in tune with the beer geek community, because they do a good job of stocking rare imports that a lot of other Colorado stores don’t have much of (specifically Scandinavian ones) - unfortunately, most of them are the uber-expensive imports that I have learned to stay away from - outside of that, nothing stands out - the prices are quite high (a least a dollar or two higher per 750 or bomber than most other stores) - they have some decent sale items, though - I don’t know - I came in wanting to love it, and just left ambivalent - I think I prefer Total Beverage in Westminster, even if my ratings for both places seem to indicate otherwise (sometimes numbers lie!). | | JCB (35), Durham, North Carolina | | June 12, 2009

Good selection of craft brews. Seemed fairly expensive, but they do give a 10% discount for buying six mix and match bottles of each size. Pretty expensive, but also pretty sweet place. Absolutely huge place, but only like 5 doors for beer. Good selection of Cantillon and other Belgian lambics, and I got a bottle of RR Consecration and NB La Folie, so I’m not complaining. Huge liquor store with a great selection of Colorado, Danish, and sours, especially. We picked up some Deschutes Cinder Cone and some Danish beers. The sale shelf is a nice touch and well-stocked with some things like ambers and lighter-bodied beers that might no longer be at their best. Great to chat with Nick (Crosling) again. |
