3 reviews for The Wine Sellers
| Terminus (145), Las Cruces, New Mexico | | October 21, 2006 definately the best place in Macomb. I was back in mid oct 06 to meet up with a bunch of old WIU friends. I made a mix 6pk with some decent goodies in it for camping out. Service was fantastic and friendly. Definately good to see such a place in such a heavy BMC town. However, i do see this town turning around now (evident from better tap beer at the local bars).
| | jpm30 (57), East Central, Georgia | | January 25, 2006 [ Updated July 31, 2006 ] This is the best place to go to in Macomb for quality beers. The best Belgian selection in the area, they have 2 coolers and a small walk-in cooler filled with singles, Anchor, Bells, Boulevard, Breckenridge, Elmwood, Goose Island, Mendocino, North Coast, Ommegang, Sam Adams, Sierra Nevada, Ska, and many more, the owners are always adding new beers. Great place for those who love to mix-a-six. Easily the best place for limited/seasonal releases in Macomb. Wine Sellers are willing to try to do special orders on beers available to central Illinois. Small cheese section, mainly for wine. The owners, Dave and Stacy, are quite friendly and beer knowledgeable. Dave is also a local reporter/columnist for a local paper and, for good or bad, a Cub fan. You can now sample beer and wine for a price, and there sre tables in the front of the store. This is also a free WiFi hotspot, so bring your laptop. Update 8/06- they are carrying Celis. They are located next to Sullivan-Taylor on the southeast corner of the square, the best coffehouse in town. | | JMerritt (53), Macomb, Illinois | | January 6, 2004 [ Updated January 28, 2005 ] I visited on their Grand Opening. Located in an old building just off of the square in downtown Macomb. Building has high ceilings and is very beautiful. As mentioned, this is primarily a wine store, but a small selection of beer is available. The owner says that he will special order beer for you if he can get it and the staff is extremely willing to help you. At last visit, many Bells beers were in stock, as were several lambics and Orval. Update Jan 2005: They now have mix-a-sixes available. |
