i first checked this place out many years ago and i remember the sign out front advertising they had budweiser products which were BORN TODAY. well the sign wasnt up today all this time later, however their craft beer selection was off the charts! they had full selections of lake louie, ale asylum, and new glarus. they also had three floyds, two brothers, stone, capitol, dark horse....and more! one of the best selections ive seen around.

Nothing to get excited about once you walk in, but a decent selection of beer nonetheless. Found a few beers here I couldn’t pick up in Milwaukee and was able to make a build your own six pack from a small selection of so-so beers. Decent amount of Wisconsin beer in six packs and a small selection of foreign beers.

This store changed from Warehouse Liquors to Liquor Baron. In my conversation with the clerk, who seemed like the owner, I think he said it is new management. This store has improved tremendously since the last time I was there over a year ago. The place looks like it has some cleaning at the least, if not some renovations. Only place I have seen Mikkeller in Madison, Black Hole, Jackie Brown, Stateside IPA to name a few. Other selection of micros is ok, lots of local stuff(Central Waters, Lake Louie, New Glarus, Tyranend, etc) and small singles selection. The guy at the checkout was very friendly and did strike up a conversation about Mikkeller with me. I’d go back just for that rarity.

Saw this place on the side of the road and decided to drop by. Actually I was fairly impressed with the volume of stuff from the Wisconsin area. They didnt have much of anything else but there were at least products from at least 6 or 7 different wisconsin breweries. It wasnt bad, but definately wasnt good either. Staff was very rude.

Selection is quite good and changes a lot, so I go in once in a while hoping for the odd rarity (such as the stash of Oud Beersel Kriek and Gueze they recently ran out of and the rare French ciders they don’t carry anymore). The beer is very poorly stored, with many bottle conditioned examples sitting on dusty shelves at room temp and some clear-bottled singles (like Sam Smiths) sitting under the bright lights. Only reason to go here is for the odd chance of finding something unavailable elsewhere in Madison. Rerate - Selection has gone way down, it appears that they are re-thinking their beer inventory. A lot of old, dusty stuff on the shelves.
