| foundmd (14), Cincinnati, Ohio | | March 8, 2009 Yet another Cincinnati area wine and liquor store that stocks a great selection of beer. This shop is nicely organized, and carries a wide selection of domestic and foreign craft beers. I picked up a pack of Founders Imperial Stout (finally!), Goose Island Pere Jacques, an AleSmith Wee Heavy, and a bomber of Nugget Nectar. They had several Belgian’s that I’d never seen before and brews from Great Divide, Moylans, Stone, and Weyerbacher. About a quarter of the selection was in coolers and many singles were for sale. Also noticed a small selection of books about beer and some decent glassware as well. The shop is located in a newer strip mall so there’s ample parking. If you’re in the area, I’d recommend it. | | Brigadier (80), Chagrin Falls, Ohio | | May 26, 2008 Any store that stocks three 3F products alongside ten options from Cantillon is definitely worth a stop. While the quantity here is certainly limited the quality more than compensates. Depending on what you are looking for you could spend anywhere from $50 to $250 easily. The best part is that you are allowed to break any sixers to build your own. | tmongoose (7), Louisville, Kentucky does not count - explanation | | May 19, 2008 found this location this morning. its out of the way a bit but what a find. has a good selection. not just alot of beers, but alot of very good ones. talked to matt ball for sometime, expressed what we wanted and well its going to be every bit worth the drive from louisville to find those hard to find beers. | JSturm (7), Yellow Springs, Ohio does not count - explanation | | April 16, 2008 This the THE place in the Cincinnati area for serious beer hunters. Much like Belmont Party Supply in Dayton, if it’s in OH this is where you go to get it. The ambience however is 180 degrees from Belmont. No problem here, I love’em both. River’s Bend is located in an ultra clean strip mall just minutes south of I-71 and SR48. | | AllAboutStout (30), Cincinnati, Ohio | | February 4, 2008 A little bit of a drive and out of the way for me, but Matt always makes up for it. A very good store where the emphasis is placed on quality and not quantity. If it’s worth carrying, they’ll have it. Very good selection and wonderful atmosphere. The best aspect of the store is having the best people in the biz working there. I have yet to meet a better beer person/friend than Matt at Rivers Bend. Anybody that stops in will agree.
This is my beer purchasing store of choice. My first place of business and I would recommend the same to everyone else. | | verymerrymonk (13), Cincinnati, Ohio | | January 19, 2008 Finally had the opportunity to stop by this great store. I was greeted by Matt who gave a tour and offered info on the great selection. This guy really knows his stuff. Wish I didn’t live so far away from this place, but I’ll definitely stop back. | GMUcrew7 (1), Mason, Ohio does not count - explanation | | December 31, 2007 Recently moved to the area, first place I found that had a great selection of macro brews, and still the best 4 years later. The service is impeccable, both Matt and Keitha are very friendly and make sure to talk to my fiance and I every time we stop by. Matt really knows his brews and will help you with any questions you might have. Although the store is small the selection of excellent beer is not, I have been able to find many beers that my buddies back home in VA are unable to find in the mega beer stores there (especially great beers from Alesmith). Would certainly recommend this store to anyone looking for great beer. | girlslikebeer2 (1), morrow, Ohio does not count - explanation | | December 12, 2007 My husband & I have been visiting River’s bend Wine & Spirits since we moved to the area a year and a half ago, Matt & Keitha are ALWAYS helpful in our selection they have taken the time to get to know our likes & dislikes & will even go as far as calling us when they get something new in that they think we may like. I started out by venturing into their wine selection while my husband was into the beer before long I had lost all interest in the wines & focused my attention onto the beer scene & my what an adventure we’ve had! All of the people that we have come in contact with are top of the line we couldn’t ask for anything more. Way to go guys!!! | cspring (2), Maineville, Ohio does not count - explanation | | December 11, 2007 Knowledgeable and right around the corner for me. First went there looking for liquor and found the beer selection. Beers listed with Rate Beer grades on the shelves. Matt is a nice guy who seems to remember most of the folks that stop in, usually by past beer requests. Get on the email list for monthly selections, beer and wine. | alexsdad06 (6), Ohio does not count - explanation | | March 9, 2007 I recently discovered this fine little shop by accident. After stumbling in, I was amazed at the quality of the beer selection. I left with an AleSmith Speedway Stout, YuleSmith winter, Hoppin Frog B.O.R.I.S. the Crusher, and a six of Thirsty Dog Siberian Night Imperial Stout. I have stopped back frequently and have always had the best service. Tonight I participated in my first Friday tasting and had a great time. Matt was a wealth of information. The beers selected for this tasting were all solid choices. Earlier in the day, Kitha had reserved a few beers that were in short supply for me without reaaly knowing who she was holding the beers. I was very impressed. |
