Visited on a Saturday during the weekend of Mondial this year, it’s full of all sorts of preserves and meats and wines and beers you buy to-go. High ceilings and spacious in general, they packed a lot of products in here. We picked up some very tasty cheese and meat for our lunch to eat at the festival and it was well worth the effort. Beer selection is commendable with lots of local beers (B. de Montreal, DDC!, La Lievre, etc) and a few interesting ciders and iced ciders in the wine section at the front. Service was helpful and several asked us if we required assistance. Good store, worth checking out.

This place is ice cider heaven! Jammed onto a narrow street around the Marche Jean-Talon, this is a gem. The beer selection actually wasn’t all that impressive, but the cider selection more than makes up for it. Although I see people commenting on the price of the ice ciders, it’s worth noting that all the cider here is about 10% cheaper than those you find in the SAQ. I could have spent a lot more time and a lot more money in this place than I did... if you’re an ice cider fan, this is the place for you.

Stopped in to pick up "picnic" supplies for Mondial. Got some fantastic cheese, and cold cuts, some bread from a few doors down. Beer selection is decent, with a range of Quebec brews but some notables are missing. (We picked up some 3 Mousquetairs, DDCiel and misc. others). Service was a bit ambivalent but we didn’t really engage them or ask questions either. Pretty good selection of ice ciders as well, I suspect it was better in the past, but there was still plenty to choose from. Definitely a recommended stop. I will return.

Located a stone’s throw from the Marche Jean-Talon (which is an amazing market that makes me wish my hotel had a kitchen I could use), this place has the most impressive ice-cider selection around. They’re pricey, but you won’t find them in a lot of other places, and probably not in such selection. The beer selection is on the small side, but has a ton of local bottles, including (as the good local places seem to) a nice DdC representation. Prices on beers are pretty good. Helpful staff.

This little market of gourmet food items is located on the periphery of a charming farmer’s market. That much is nice. But I am growing tired of beer retailers in Montreal that carry a plethora of single-bottle micros but without any of the big guns other than Dieu du Ciel. I don’t consider myself a Quebec brews veteran, but to me, not carrying any Bieropholie, Hopfenstark, or Charlevoix is a cryin’ shame. Perhaps I underrate this place. After all, it is a matter of carrying a few key bottles for me. Come here if you are new to Quebec/Montreal and want a good atmosphere to sample a little of what’s out there.

Located near a nice farmers market, and some interesting shops - quite a spacious store - clean and well-lit - a large cooler of beer amidst the huge selection of food and liquor - they had a lot of obscure Quebec brews that only have a couple of ratings, but some of the big names were missing (Charlevoux, Bieropholie) - nothing to complain about, though, as the beers you will find will be plenty rare and obscure (though not necessarily good) - I’d say it’s worth going to, even for a tourist.

near some other shops offering local foods and products. True, a small beer selection, however, I have never seen these beers anywhere, or had even heard of them for that matter. They have a number of slections from deep Quebec, you may not find elsewhere. A nice stop if you are are also planning to visit the surrounding market.

Can’t believe I haven’t rated this place before. This store in Marché Jean-Talon (Jean-Talon metro station) has everything you need to host a tasting of fine Québécois products. The micro selection is good, with a few breweries left out, but DDC is there, Brasseurs et Frères, Bièropholie will be there again soon, etc. Then the cider section is one of the best you’ll ever see in the province, with dozens of ice ciders from all over the province, some wines and other artisanal liquors, mostly at reasonable prices. Top that off with a decent selection of regional cheeses (some very hard to find anywhere), some pâtés, sausages, jams, mustards, vinegars, and you have all the ingredients you need for a smashing evening of discovering and rediscovering Québec’s finest artisanal savoir-faire.

This place sounded like it had great potential (market of flavour)! But yeah, they have one small wall of beer (compared to Simon Anthony’s). They are pretty close, so it’s worth going there, but you won’t find much that Simon Anthony doesn’t have. You you also check out the SAQ that’s nearby on Beaubien, I don’t remember the exact location, but they had some nice selection that you couldn’t get at either place.

Located in a large open market with lots of local cheeses and other goodies. This place boasts a very impressive ice cider selection. The beer selection was pretty lacking when I was there, however. Across from the physical store is a decent chocolatier. Around the corner, I found a few local cheeseries represented that weren’t in the store as well as two ice ciders not available in the store. Definitely worth the stop.
