| troyc (72), Lubbock, Texas | | November 3, 2008 I think this place if fantastic. The bartenders were very friendly (and somewhat knowledgeable). A small place, but clean and busy. Lots of good selections on tap. Prices a little high, but normal for downtown Naperville. The best part though is that you can sample anything on tap for free... even the Goose Island Bourbon Barrel Stout. Good tap selections, with bottles being a little more limited, yet still unique. Didn’t try the food. All in all, the best place to enjoy a beer in Naperville by far! | | kseecs16 (141), Naperville, Illinois | | June 26, 2008 [ Updated October 12, 2009 ] Great addition to downtown Naperville. Small, narrow place with exposed brick walls. A couple t.v.’s above the bar showing sports. Service was friendly and prompt and while not very knowledgeable about beer the waitress was trying hard. Decent number of taps (10 or so)though their beer list only had about half of the taps listed so make sure you check out the taps which is not hard as the place is about 20 feet weide in total. Bottle selection is varied but full of good to great beers with some Belgians, German, and a large contingent of American micros. Prices are reasonable and there were some specials on a Wednesday evening. Some of the bottles seemed a little over priced while others seemed right in line or well priced. Food was better than expected everything seemed to be made with fresh high quality ingredients and featured a good amount of spicy items which is a plus in my book. Lacks a little in character but its new and the owners seem to want to do something good here. Is a loud, crowded, rowdy mess on Friday and Saturday evenings so don’t go at these times if you want to relax or have a conversation with the staff. | BCAR (6), Naperville, Illinois does not count - explanation | | June 2, 2008 Finally!!!!A bar in Naperville that has everything a beer-lover would want.
Excellent beers and equal service. Went in after the GB was open and was treated to a great eating/drinking night. Alpha King and Gumballhead on tap was a treat. Also Left Hand Milk Stout was excellent. Delerium, Edmund Fitzgerald, 60 minute with possibly 90 minute coming on tap. Food was great. Try the french fries and gravy. MMM!
Wait staff bends over backward to make sure you have a good experience. | chris12 (1), Plainfield, Illinois does not count - explanation | | May 28, 2008 [ Updated May 29, 2008 ] The first craft beer bar in Naperville. This place has an awesome selection of draft craft such as Rogue, Tremens, Ayinger, Great Lakes, Three Floyds, Stiegl, Dogfish Head and some more. The bottle selection is even better. Old Rasputin, Augustiner, La Chouffe, Unibroue, Samuel Smith, North Coast Brewery, Founders, and many more...Service is great. |
