25 reviews for Frugal MacDoogal Wine & Liquor Warehouse
| BEER4MEPLEASE (10), , | | November 15, 2009 FOR ALL THE TALK ABOUT THIS STORE, I WAS PLANNING ON SOMETHING MORE. ITS OLD AND OUTDATED. THE BEER SELECTION WAS OK BUT NOT ORGANIZED IN A COSTOMER FRIENDLY WAY. I WENT SOMEWHERE ELSE! | BeerBaby (7), , Tennessee does not count - explanation | | September 24, 2009 Big place. Liked the fact that the beers and liquors are right next door. Good thing in Tennessee and keeps you from running all over. Average prices. Most of the same beers your find anywhere. Didn’t find the kind I was wanting, a Kindl Berliner Weisse. I will keep on looking. | | padgemw (11), , | | July 24, 2009 I’ve been shopping at Frugal’s for years, when they were hands down the best liquor store in Nasvhille. While they do have decent competition these days, they are still my preferred store. In Tennessee, understand that beer is categorized by strength, so if you walk in the beer side and don’t find certain bottles, then walk over to the liquor/wine side, where the higher than 6% bottles are kept. | | JonnyC22 (10), Huntsville, Alabama | | March 10, 2009 This is the place to go if you’re living in Nashville or just cruising through. Warehouse-sized place with over 100 different types of beer, easily. Check out their website. | | stoad (21), laguna niguel, California | | December 28, 2008 Good prices, decent selection. I found a few things not at Midtown, but their selection was a bit smaller. I wanted some bottles not available in CA and they certainly did not disappoint. They were a few bucks less than Midtown on a couple of the things I bought. I liked the mix-n-match a 12oz single option. | | Butters (150), Virginia | | November 18, 2008 Hands down the cheapest prices in town. (though still not ’cheap’) The selection of the low alc side is more impressive than the high alc. But for a more expansive selection, for only a few pennies more, i’d recommend Mid-town over here. But value is the draw for this place. | | jrob21 (42), Atlanta, Georgia | | September 2, 2008 Decent enough place. Had a nice little singles section on the beer side that was good to mix a six. Liquour side had plenty to choose from. Service was nice but did not test their beer knowledge. Can get plenty of local and regional stuff here although I did not see some things that Midtown had. Can get things like Boulevard, Bluegrass, Applachian, Yazoo and some random international beers. I noticed one from Lithuania but didn’t grab it so couldn’t tell you what it was. Google maps showed me right to it so it was pretty easy to find for me. Might as well hit this and Midtown and cover all your bases although I think Midtown’s selection is a little better. | | nqualls (35), Nashville, Tennessee | | August 17, 2008 The one knock I always have on this place is that no one that works here knows anything about beer. The selection is average (typical for Nashville) and the prices are average to high (also typical for Nashville). | | blutt59 (51), Dallas, Texas | | June 10, 2008 Near downtown location with a good assortment of specialty beer, lots of Belgian singles and east coast stuff, some Colorado also, hard to find but good clean store | | beerguy101 (47), Newark, California | | May 29, 2008 Once I remembered NOT to listen to my GPS Unit, it had me turning left and right on the same block. So I got a little lost getting here. Once you get there it was easy getting back on the freeway. The liquor side has a decent selection of stuff I have not seen elsewhere, like all three Harviestoun Ola Dubh beers, and some other weird and odd stuff. The beer side had a bunch of stuff, including quite a number of brewery mix packs. They do allow you to mix a six, so I was able to get quite a few beers I had not had yet. Definitely worth the trip. |
