27.10.2009. The Beer Palace dont deserve the name. They have a fairly good selection but its not that good. The ber palace is decorated as a classical pub. They also have a nice beer bottle collection. The barkepper on the first floor was helpfull, the lady on the second floor wasn’t. The Beer palace is situated on Aker Brygge which is a very nice and trendy place.

Ok, so they got some beers, but not a very varied selection. Some norwegian micros, belgians, some nice imports, and quite a lot of boring imports you can get everywhere else. Prices are fairly steep

Just a typical norwegian bar with high prices. But, the selection of beers is very acceptable. They got the Kronemburg blanche on tap, very refreshing, and the classic Duvel, and so on. Not a great deal this place but you can stop by one day. Be prepare to spend more than usual.

Beer Palace might be a a bit of false advertisement, but this is one the the few places in Oslo where you can decent beer not only various lagers. The prices are a bit stiff and it can be very crowded on Friday and Saturday nights. If you’re looking for a good place to get good beer in Oslo I’d reccommend Olympen (Lompa) instead. Bar & Cigar is also a very good place, but their selection is more limited.

Very far from being a beer palace, but still one of the better beer places in Oslo. I drank the last bottle they had from Haandbryggeriet. The beers they stock are also mostly available from Vinmonopolet or Norwegian grocery stores. No food, but they allow you to bring in pizza from Peppe’s across the yard.

Interesting bar with tons of historical artifacts for the beer geek. Amazing that Norwegian beers here cost more than the range of mostly macros from all around the world. Nice pool table. Well-heeledl crowd, lots of bankers, as this is in one of the trendiest parts of town, right on the harbour, which is so expensive that cruise lines no longer stopover here. Good if you’re going to be here a few days.

Last visited with fellow RB-ers on a quiet saturday evening. Friendly staff, but not too much knowledge. An hour before closing time, the girl behind the door served us a nice home-made chocolate cake, but I don’t think everyone is that lucky. Norwegian pricelevel and Norwegian micros.

Try to find a quiet weekday evening, and you are able to sample some of the best beers available in Norway (imported and domestic). Nice outdoor seating in the summer. Beware: Norwegian price level!

Nice brick building with outdoor serving in summer, some leather sofas inside, billiards, etc. Quite a large place, mostly full of people in suits who work at Aker Brygge doing finance-type stuff. Always plays music way too loud with sound quality so appalling you can’t really hear the songs even if you’re the only person in the place. Beer selection is probably the second best in Norway (which isn’t saying much). Belgian trappists are well-represented, also Ruddles County, Sam Smith (Imperial Stout + Taddy Porter), and lots of more humdrum stuff. Always has some Nøgne Ø, and now also Haandbryggeriet. For local Norwegian craft brews, this is a good place to go. They don’t serve food, but it’s possible to order pizza at Peppe’s across the street, and have them bring it to you.
