DeanF (3), Paris, France does not count - explanation | | October 2, 2009 Lots of Belgians here, it’s a good place in Paris on the southwest side to stock up on them. Reasonable prices and a pretty good selection of stuff you wouldn’t likely find anywhere else in the city. Service is decent, place seemed kind of quiet while I was there. Good selection of glassware as well. Good place to look for trappists and lambic stuff, as well as a small selection of English ales, but that’s not really the focus. | kester (6), , Netherlands does not count - explanation | | September 4, 2009 Small store with an emphasis on Belgian beer, a few I’d not seen, but mainly not really obscure. There were more German beers than French (from just three breweries when visited). Very friendly place. | | hirigalzkar (13), Stockholm, Sweden | | July 19, 2009 Friendly staff. The beer selection is quite conservative, but if you’re looking for some great classical brews from Europe this is a really good place. | | MrRoss (13), Delta, British Columbia | | July 8, 2009 A charming little corner shop with floor to ceiling beers, complmented with an excellent selection of glassware. LOTS of Belgians, and lots of French beers (of course), with a decent range of British and German beers as well. They also have an eclectic variety of "others" and some gift packs just to keep your interest. No cash register, the gentleman proprietor looks at your purchases, walks around the store and writes the prices on a notepad, and presents you with the total. One thing to note: hours are from 10:30 to 13:00, then they close from 13:00 to 16:00, finally opening again from 16:00 to 20:30. You can’t not go there if in Paris, only a walk of less than ten minutes from both the Gaite and Pernety Metro stations. | | bhensonb (287), Woodland, California | | May 5, 2009 Very good selection for me, but probably not for Ungstrup. Got Crocodile from Sweden! Bought 9, and could have bought more, except for the backpack issue. Generally agree with others., below. Try to go there. | | footy (11), scottsdale, Arizona | | December 19, 2008 Hard to locate but worth the stop since Paris is not beer heaven. The owner speaks English and was very helpful in setting me up with farmhouse french ales with little distribution. I especially liked the Pigeonelle Loirette 7.5% and wish I could get more. | | ManvsCity (17), Redmond, Washington | | October 17, 2008 Quaint, cozy shop stocked to the ceiling with mostly Belgian beers. They had a few bottles of relatively hard to find Gueuzes, and a wide selection of other Belgians. A huge glassware selection. Receipts, if asked for, are hand written. Owners are friendly and helpful. Worth the trip, especially if you are in the Montparnasse neighborhood. | | KyotoLefty (131), Kyoto, Japan | | September 21, 2008 Good place. Friendly service, nice selection, particularly of Belgian beer, ok on French beer. Prices are reasonable. | Grossecaisse (5), , France does not count - explanation | | May 12, 2008 parisian prices | | fiulijn (198), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy | | January 27, 2008 Undoubtly a good selection, one of the best in Paris, best place if looking for Belgian beers (the Marriage Parfait Gueuze is really not easy to find, and many others). They have very few (and rather common) French beers, such as Lancelot. |
