3 reviews for Bella Vista Beer Distributors
| ManvsCity (17), Redmond, Washington | | November 19, 2009 A big warehouse of beer in cases only. WTF?? Fortunately, Hawthorne’s Cafe just opened across the street, where you can buy individual bottles, fill growlers, eat, and drink. | | bp (47), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania | | November 14, 2007 [ Updated January 18, 2009 ] I went to this place a couple weeks ago after seeing the review on this site and realizing that this place was really not too far from my apt in center city. I’m glad I checked it out. Very good selection of PA locals, plenty of Dogfish Head and a solid selection of Belgians (De Dolle, St. Bernardus, Chimay, etc). They also had some sampler cases - the one that caught my eye in particular was the Weyerbacher big beer one that had Blithering Idiot and a couple other of their big beers in it. I didn’t have any interaction with the staff other than to pay for my case of 90 minute IPA. I’m getting a car soon so I’ll be able to start going here a bit more often.
** update ** I’ve been going to the new location with some frequency now and the selection is getting very good. Bells Expedition, Founders Breakfast Stout, Green Flash Le Freak, Port Brewing Old Viscosity, Ballast Point IPA, are just some of the very good brands that were in stock in my past couple of trips. There’s also a section dedicated t | | RblWthACoz (23), Brooklyn, New York | | September 6, 2007 As I walked up and saw the fairly poor looking sign, I figured this was not going to be good. When I saw the big Miller Lite truck parked in front, I began mentally preparing my tirade on how someone owes me some mileage money for walking down to this place. And then I went inside.
It’s a beer distributor, so you get what you figure you would for ambiance. It’s just a warehouse type of setup really. But they do have loads of good stuff. And what I thought was great was all the variety packs. If you are going to live under the tyranny of stupid beer laws and have to buy a case, it might as well be something interesting, like Bells or Troegs. Easily this place had several hundred beers, though available by cases of course. If you want cases, come here. If you want singles, go to The Foodery that is not too far away. |
