| 41cubs (14), , New Jersey | | October 15, 2009 Do not miss this place if you appreciate a thoughtful artisanal based menu, intimate setting, and a relaxed, attentive, informed service etiquette. Small (20 or so brews) beer list that includes a variety of styles and brewerys to suite almost any budget and preference. Great meat and cheese plates with compotes, relishes, flavored oils and spreads that are really not to be missed. Staff made suggestions that were very helpful and right on. Great joint for anybody who enjoys anything about experiencing the new in a comfortable setting. | | jmm635 (33), Havertown, Pennsylvania | | September 21, 2009 Tria is a little trendy and expensive to be your local hangout, but it’s a very nice treat every once in a while. Tap and bottle list is small compared to other standard Philly beer bars, but the selection is excellent. Had the Stone Vertical Epic 09.09.09 on tap over the weekend - that says quite a bit. Food is also excellent, but pretty small plates so don’t plan on filling up unless you want to spend a fortune. Cheese selection is top notch! | | LilBeerDoctor (29), East Setauket, New York | | January 11, 2009 Stopped here on a Saturday night with fredandboboflo. This was a pretty cool place. It has a very uppity-vibe and it was quite crowded when we were there, but we did get seats. Solid tap list. It’s not very long, but it had quality beers. We got Victory Yakima Twilight, Yards Extra Special Ale, Meantime IPA, and Allagash Interlude. They also have a really good wine list if you’re into that too. We ordered a cheese plate and it was awesome as well. Pricey and not exactly the atmosphere I’m into, but I can’t deny that this is a really good beerbar. Definitely check it out. | GuilTTy (8), Cherry Hill, New Jersey does not count - explanation | | November 28, 2008 I’ll keep this short - the list of craft brews was short in relation to Philly’s other classic craft beer bars (Eulogy & Monk’s) and the overall quality was inconsistent BUT.... when I visited a week ago they had a 2006 Stone Brandy Barrel Aged Double Bastard on tap - what more do I need to say? I followed that up with a Russian River Blind Pig. With world-class quality at the top end, it makes little difference that the lower end of the beer menu is several large steps down. | | bp (47), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania | | July 5, 2008 [Same ratings as the other location since there is very little difference] I love Tria. It is probably my favorite beer bar in the city (yes, I like it better than Monks or Eulogy). They always have some interesting draft selections and a number of different bottles of beers (locals, Belgians, regional, west coast). The food is excellent. High quality ingredients, nice cheese selection. The newer location on Spruce St. has a much more trendy feel but both are equally good places to go. Stop in and have some food and a drink! | | FooFaa (25), Lebanon, Pennsylvania | | May 31, 2008 I don’t know why it took me so long to get to this place. It’s fantastic! The atmosphere is upscale, but casual. The service is excellent. The staff know their stuff, and are very attentive. It was a bit crowded when we went, but the noise level was tolerable. You could have a conversation without yelling and straining to hear what others are saying. The menu is small, but the food was outstanding, and, considering the quality, very reasonably priced. My Alaskan smoked salmon sandwich was delicious. The beer selection is very small. There was nothing particularly rare, but everything was of very good quality. The next time I’m in town, I’m definitely going here. | | jde123 (58), Washington, Washington DC | | January 1, 2008 Enjoyed the beer selection and snacks at Tria tonight. Very nice Belgian beer list that changes with the season, as well as other not so common beer selections I haven’t seen elsewhere in the city. I thought the beer menu was separated rather well, it gives a customer who is not so familiar with beer styles something to better gauge what they are ordering. There is also a great cheese/beer/wine pairing sheet on the menu which was nice to see. Wait staff was friendly and knowledgeable as well. Probably helped that I went to this place on New Year’s day, it wasn’t very busy... : ) I like this place. | jw0406 (4), atlanta, Georgia does not count - explanation | | November 4, 2007 Limited selection of beers, but every beer is great. The food is simple and really good. It’s a very simple place that prides itself on quality not quantity | | iratherbe (32), Marlton, New Jersey | | August 30, 2007 Been here quite a few times & have taken advantage of their Sunday School offerings. Not much more to add though I’ll reiterate - go on a Sunday to sample ... it’s well worth it, they do a good job highlighting the specialties offered, the selections are generally top notch, I enjoy the simple nature of this place & it’s commitment to quality, the food offerings are more of a tapas/tasting/ light fare variety & very tasty, service is friendly & fast & to top it all off it’s in a great neighborhood. | | jeremytoni (53), Swedesboro, New Jersey | | June 5, 2007 They offer what they call "Sunday school" in which you can get less common beer/wine/cheese at a discounted price. A great chance to try something new. Other then that their wait staff is very freindly and knowledgable. Their food is very tastey not the normal fair available with a good beer slecetion. |
