hiddenvariable (9), pittsburgh, Pennsylvania does not count - explanation | | January 4, 2008 cool place with a decent beer selection, and among my favorite food in the city. had some great divide hercules last time i was there, and my friend had an allagash grand cru. nothing outrageous, but definitely solidly stocked. service is well above average for a college bar/restaurant, and again, the food is exceptional. the wood-fired oven pizzas alone make this place worth a visit. doesn’t get as crowded as mad mex, but you still can’t park anywhere nearby. | | cheapdark (65), Monacatootha, Pennsylvania | | July 7, 2007 [ Updated July 22, 2008 ] Visited during the Oakland beer walking tour of July 2007. This place is something else. Outside it says ’ free napkin with every order’! When you first walk in, you are amazed by the amount of smoke in here, and it is not cigarette smoke, it’s the delicious aroma of great food grilling. Upstairs is a small bar and medium sized dining area, downstairs is a larger cleaner quieter dining area. The staff is very friendly and very attractive. Lots of eye candy and lots of vizyah! I saw one with a nose ring, like the nose ring my daughter has, I feel right at home. The prices are great too, big 20 oz glasses of troegs for $3 each! This place is geared toward the micro brew, lots of bottles on display behind the bar. Check it out. I didn’t have any food here today, but will on a return trip someday. | | JCapriotti (67), Milwaukee, Wisconsin | | October 21, 2006 Okay place if you are near Pitt or CMU without a car. Okay selection, but not compared to other places in the area. Food is decent. | | zebracakes (17), Washington DC | | August 17, 2006 [ Updated March 14, 2007 ] This place is so-so. Sometimes gets a bit too crowded for me. I usually only go if someone else *really* wants to go. | CMD (3), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania does not count - explanation | | January 22, 2006 Excellent college bar, great food and a decent selection. The house beers are brewed by Troegs, only local bar w/ Troegs on tap if I am not mistaken. They offer half price food after 11 as well. | | SB (24), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania | | January 18, 2006 [ Updated February 14, 2006 ] I’ve been there before a long time ago. Anyway not to crowded when we went (tuesday night). Ambiance was nice, it was drank with lighting in the usual spots. Service was good for 1am. Selection was good, more then I was expecting, but they had some brew that I wouldn’t usually get. | | Wakie (11), Centreville, Virginia | | March 2, 2005 In the heart of Pittsburgh college neighborhood. Good food. Usually crowded. Very loud. Better than average selection. Very attractive waitresses. | | michael-pollack (71), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania | | February 29, 2004 Good food.
