4 reviews for Puget Sound Wine Cellar
| robforbes (18), Bremerton, Washington | | November 30, 2008 [ Updated May 22, 2009 ] i have been here about 5 times since the new ownership. every time i come in the owner points out any new beers and tells me what he thought of any that he has had.
the selection is four coolers and maybe 50 different brews, the management is always trying to bring in new ones when he can. which is very difficult with the washington state beer distribution laws.
ambiance is fine, again it is a wine store, that is how the place is making money, but it is nice that there is one more place out there on the peninsula that a person can check without having to drive 100 miles round tip to go to a major beer store.
the value is very reasonable especially if you aren’t driving far to find new beers. | dirt55 (8), Washington does not count - explanation | | September 23, 2008 Place is really all about wine with about 6-8 doors of beer...really small doors.
Rated 5 on service because neither of the two employees (one of them was the owner based on the news clipings) said a word to me until checkout where they had to give me my total. Not sure if this is because I was young AND not interested in their wine....but..there was also a party of 5-8 people in their looking to buy wine who appeared to be out of towners so I think most of the effort went towards helping them. I’ll get a better feel for service next visit hopefully.
Price was more then the place in Tacoma that I go to, and about the same as Seattle area shops.
Selection was....odd. Some very common why do they have this here type beers and them some I’ve not seen at any other place I’ve been too, no complaints considering how small their selection is...again it IS a wine store so their beer selection is nice if you think about it that way.
I will go back again for a quick beer or two, but will take the time to drive to Tacoma/Seattle to stock up in the future. | jdl837 (1), Port Orchard, Washington does not count - explanation | | November 30, 2006 This place has come along really nice. Their selection has picked up significantly since their opening. In an area that has no quality beer selection, these guys have got it going on! | Gromit (9), Port Orchard, Washington does not count - explanation | | March 14, 2005 Brand new store that is looking to provide good beers in this otherwise beer desert. Nothing overly exciting yet, but the owner was thrilled to learn that I knew a little bit about beer and was very open to suggestions and wants to grow the selection. I have high hopes for this place.
