15 reviews for Pat’s Liquors
cexshun (5), Portage, Indiana does not count - explanation | | October 27, 2009 Cool place. Ski lodge-ish. Employees are good people with good beer knowledge. OK selection. Good rares but a little lacking in everyday locals. Would prefer to see more from the region and less from Colorado/Maine. Prices a bit high, but pretty much on par for the region. | Cabo (3), Indiana does not count - explanation | | August 19, 2009 Beer nirvana | fuzzykiwiman (1), , Indiana does not count - explanation | | January 5, 2009 Pretty much the last stop in NW Indiana for good beer. Owner is great and very knowledgeable. Good selection. Small place, but impressive considering other liquor stores in the area. | bigbuildinze (2), Porter, Indiana does not count - explanation | | January 4, 2009 great little out of the way revelation in Porter, IN, just a mile or so from the Indiana Dunes! strong micro/craft and organic selection partnered with plenty of the cheap populist swill. the palpable hippie ambience echoes throughout. the prices are a bit high but I understand. My main complaint is actually the fairly weak wine selection. but since this is RATEBEER, this does not figure in to my ratings! | | Jwasciuk (12), Lowell, Michigan | | July 27, 2008 Easy to get to just off of i-94. Built by own 6-pack and picked up some beer geek breakfast stout, Pat recomended a porter and I bought it. Nice place, will go back again . | | MrBunn (53), Western, Pennsylvania | | July 22, 2008 Stopped in the other day as I was bombing down I-94. Fairly easy to get to from the interstate, not hard to find. Stepping in the door, I immediately was struck by the cluttered ski lodge look to things. I was only in to pick up some Three Floyds, so I did only a cursory glance at the rest of the stuff, but it looks pretty decent to me. Staff asked if I was finding everything OK, and then if I really liked beer or something like that. Nice enough place, and may be a staple now that FFF has limited their distribution. | | esjaygee (103), Oak Creek, Wisconsin | | July 13, 2008 Just a short jaunt off the freeway, this little place on the corner was an unexpected find on my trip. The store itself is tiny, but there’s beer to be had everywhere, and a lot of good beer at that. Mix them up, if you like, with no upcharge. That’s the way I like it. There were some beers here I had never seen before – I wish I would have written them down. I couldn’t believe how busy this place was. Decent selection of Indiana and regional beers, even a discount section with one dollar a bottle offerings. Cashier was friendly to everyone and helpful. A must stop if in the area. | WaveBeats (1), does not count - explanation | | April 9, 2008 Best little liquor store in the world, but shane is gay! | | iowaherkeye (24), Los Angeles , California | | February 12, 2008 Thanks to the bartender from iShoreline/I for pointing out this place to us. Didn’t catch the two ladies’ names who were helping us, but they were both knowledgeable and nice. The cheapest I’d ever seen GI BCS$16.99/4pack! Had a fair amount of 3F, Back Road, Bells, and Stone. There were also some others. I don’t recall seeing much for imports, so did I somehow miss this? The store (outside and inside) made me think of an old backwoods cabin-like bait shop. We were able to break up six-packs, and they even had a $1 a beer section, which she warned us isn’t always the best idearegardless, I picked out six new beerswe’ll see if they’re in good enough shape to rate. Highly recommended if you’re anywhere near Shoreline Brewing in Michigan City. | Punchy (1), does not count - explanation | | January 5, 2008 I would have given the best little liquor store in Porter, IN close to a perfect, but Santa depleted her stock a little bit....I bet there are alot of happy beer-happy elves running around because of that fact! Lizzie has alot of information that can help everyone out no matter what their situation..she also gets crazy when you asked for something that is not available to her or Indiana at this writing..she will always try her best to get anything for you. She whould be a distributor and the little Midwest state of Indiana would be better served! Thanks Lizzie for the beer and the yummy nights of taste testing with all of my goodies I get at your store everytime I stop. My visa loves the place..see you soon |
