| jwbrewing (11), Reno, Nevada | | October 13, 2009 All I have to say is, "if your looking for any beer and its sold in Northern Nevada you’re at the right place." Thank you..... | | kmweaver (113), Sebastopol, California | | September 16, 2009 How is this in Reno?? Nice digs, a beautiful selection of craft beer, driving distance from where we’re staying, and more goodness than I imagined possible (and than even the website suggests). Standards include DFH, Deschutes, Full Sail, Sierra Nevada, North Coast, Jolly Pumpkin, Alaskan, Oskar Blues, etc. Highlights included Old Rasputin XII, New Belgium Lips of Faith series, Saint Somewhere, and an impressive international selection, including some Mikkeller and a bit o’ Cantillon. Yes, please. Knowledgeable dude behind the counter and make-your-own-sixers to boot. | slowrunner77 (3), reno, does not count - explanation | | July 24, 2009 averange atmosphere, neither good or bad. service can best be summed up as "indifferent" at best, to the point I usually avoid the place (except when they’re the only place in town that has something). they used to be excited about the biz when they first opened. now staff (especially the owner) are among the least helpful/knowledgable about what they’ve had/have/or are getting. little to no mark-up, and occasional sales. Overall, it’s worth going every once and a while for the selection, but the service is poor enough that i don’t go often. too bad... | | heemer77 (171), Savannah, Missouri | | July 14, 2008 recently went to this store. They had a decent selection of Northern California brews and a couple of Nevada breweries. Lots of stuff in the fridge, they will let you single out any six packs that you want. A nice store that I would certainly visit if I returned. | hophessel (2), Reno, Nevada does not count - explanation | | June 11, 2008 This is the beer store to go to if you are in the Reno/Tahoe area. If the distributor carries it these guys will have it on their shelves. Most beers are in coolers. They also host free tasting sessions ever few months. Also have a good selection of wines and liquor. | | GG (11), NorCal, California | | May 30, 2008 This review is based on dropping in once or twice a year, while gambling in their casinos. Very easy to find with a huge sign out front. Inside, they have beer in both a cooler and isle shelves. The have a very nice selection of beers with a strong Euro influence on their stock. In the walk-ins you can find some beers to check off the hard to find state of Nevada, plus a few other gems. Nice store. Decent prices too. Oh, they let you break up bottles into single purchases which is very nice. | | DTM (13), Winters, California | | April 24, 2008 A decent sized store with a large selection of West Coast micro brews and European beers. You can also make your own six pack which allowed me to pick up some singles of the local micro brews. I will visit again. | | Lubiere (177), Ottawa, Ontario | | February 2, 2008 Was there in August of 2007. For a cultural desert such as Reno, this place was a pleasant diversion. The selection was a mix of PNW beers, a few local NVmicros, a decent selection of Brit and German and some fairly common Belgians. They do have free tastings, which is a plus. | QuelqueChose (1), Reno, Nevada does not count - explanation | | February 1, 2008 I read a couple of the other reviews that remarked on the selection. As someone who used to work for a large distribution company, these guys have the best selection in the state. Along with that, they have regular beer tasting where there is no charge. The employees know what they are talking about from beer and wine to spirits. This is very unlike the BevMo’s of California. Considering the Nevada environment they are in, this company has gone out of their way to stand out from the typical liquor store. | TRANSCOPE00 (1), Reno, Nevada does not count - explanation | | January 18, 2008 This place is awesome! The service was great. They have every beer that is available in their area, and they do tastings. I attended a very informative workshop on Belgian style beers at the shop hosted by a professional beer judge. I had a great time, got great service and didn’t feel like I was walking into a crappy liquor store. Speaking of which they also have a great selection of Single Malt Scotches, Vodkas and wines. Along with quite a few specialty liqueurs and other spirits. They have a website at www.boozebros.com where people can order. |
