The Vine has a great selection of cheeses, the pork chop was delicious and so was the pasta. Top of the line food! They have around 50 beers (only bottles) and they are kinda pricey. A Rochefort 10 was $8, a Deliruim Tremens was $18. The good thing is that i got them all for half price, Happy hour was from 4 to 6pm!So it was ok. Nothing on tap, and nothing you cant get at BEVMO. Theyve got all the Alesmiths, Stones, Alpines and about 20 Trappist. The place is nothing special really, a square area with a small bar and a tiny wine room with some huge bottles of Chimay. Views of the Street. The service was really good, except they didnt know too much about beer. I ask for an Imperial Stout and he didnt know what i was talking about. The owner however sent me Some of his own NC old rasputin, witch was delicious. The wife said it was ok... at least she liked it more than P.Port.

Pretty nice wine bar in O.B. Although they are primarily a wine bar, they have alot of great bottle selections here. From what I understand, they have Cask beers from time to time as well. The food is really good. This is a place where you could take a date for a casual dinner, or just to stop in and taste a couple of good wines or beers. It’s a welcome addition to San Diego.

This is a wine bar that also has a wide selection of bottled beer (no taps) available. The food is excellent. Don’t shy away just because of the linen tablecloths and subdued lighting. The Vine is a casual neighborhood bar in the most casual SD neighborhood, Ocean Beach. Bear in mind the food is not pub grub. You’ll spend a bit more, but not much, since the most expensive menu item is 12 bucks. And it will be worth every penny. The steak and Vineburger are two favorites. Go with the Halibut in blood orange sauce if you want seafood. The bottle prices are comparable to those at O’Briens. But when I go to O’Briens, I get what is on draught. That is not an option at the Vine. As a result, you’ll spend more, but the food and beer together make for a great night out. Get there early. Happy hour prices for beer and wine are halved, but that is only from 4-6pm. The place is small and fills up before 8pm on most nights. Show up before then to avoid waiting for a seat. Alpine, Alesmith, Avery, Ballast Point, Bear Republic, Chimay, DuPont, Duvel, Ommegang, Orval, Petrus, Rochefort, Russian River, Stone, Unibroue, Victory, Westmalle, among others. You can find me there at least once a week for Happy Hour.
