| Aquilo (15), California | | November 29, 2009 I walk past this place so often that I’m ashamed that I haven’t gone in here until now. The beer selection is huge, and they have some great stuff. Not just Rogue ales, but all sorts of seemingly random stuff. Service was excellent and very friendly. I will definitely be back for more! | excalibur (8), Louisville, Kentucky does not count - explanation | | October 25, 2009 We came here for a late lunch and a good beer and were very pleased with both. Few patrons were there which allowed the bartender, Billy to introduce us to some of the 20 or more beers on tap. He was friendly and knowledgeable. They have a very interesting changing selection of beer which should please any palate. I had Rogue’s Old Crustacean Barleywine which is excellent and on a second visit it was gone but was delighted with Drake’s Denogginizer. A great spot for a quality beer or two and good interesting food. | | branspra (14), Arlington, Virginia | | August 5, 2009 Visited July 30 and August 1 for happy hours. Place has a strong beer selection but unfortunately some of the most interesting beers brewed by Rogue weren’t on the draft board on both dates. The food is very strong, particularly the appetizers which I highly recommend. My party on both nights actually thought the guest taps were better than Rogue’s which isn’t good for them but speaks volumes about their love of great beer. Recommended but Monk’s Kettle is much better if you are in San Francisco. | | dchmela (52), Orlando, Florida | | July 8, 2009 Really nice old pub next to a park, a few blocks walk from the wharf. Many good Rogues on tap, hard to choose even with a sampler available. A couple of cool guest tap were also available. Had the hummus plate, found it to be very good. Bartender was busy, but service was still good and even took the time to point me in the direction of a good place to eat in Chinatown. Also had something called the Garage Sale going on, selling all sorts of hats, shirts, glasses and beer for cheap prices (got 2 Rogue long sleeve shirts for $10 each). | | Rastacouere (475), Montréal, Quebec | | July 1, 2009 This place is pretty much a classic. If Rogue beers do not impress me as much as they once did, it’s still a real pleasure to hesitate between 20 or so of them and 2 casks to boot. The service was friendly and helpful, the location is prime by Washington Square and the patrons seem to be mainly locals. I was a bit surprised that pints would come up to 6$ a pop, but I guess this goes with the location. Not a particularly pretty place, but it has the merit of feeling like a brewpub. | | HopheadHans (13), Bay Area, California | | March 4, 2009 Good location in North beach. Decent basic pub group, good selection of beers on tap including guest brews. I never had bad service but usually I go in the early evening/late afternoon and hang out at the bar. | larsniclas (9), Gothenburg, Sweden does not count - explanation | | February 20, 2009 Loads and loads of Rogue’s on tap.
Kinda sloppy service, but the ambiance are good and the guest are quite into beer...
A perfect stop if you’re making the foot-trip to Fisherman’s from Union! | | f351c4v (77), Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania | | January 9, 2009 Visited during a business trip in December ’08. Stopped in after the Steeler/Cowboy game, and was met with a wall of Rogue taps. Was pretty quiet, but it was a Sunday night. The standards were here, along with some of my favorites that I hadn’t run across in some time (I2PA, Imperial Stout, Chipotle). Food was average, but the bartender made up for it, was very knowledgable about the beers and the area. Not essential, but stop by if you’re in North Beach... just eat at one of the many Italian joints in the area. | | RuneStumo (19), FØRRESFJORDEN, Norway | | November 28, 2008 01.11.2008. I had to walk from the Wharf to get to the pub and it was worth it. I think the selection is very good at this pub. They have a great variety and the staff was helpfull when I had questions. | | PaulHegedus (23), Georgetown, Ontario | | September 29, 2008 My wife and I stumbled upon this place in North Beach, August 2008. It was early to mid afternoon, fairly empty with what seemed like regulars lining the bar, most drinking the IIPA on draught. Baseball commentary coming out of the tv, lots of Califronia fuss over the then recent Ramirez trade to LA. Besides the Imperial Stout, Shakespeare and IIPA, there was not a lot to be excited about considering it’s a short bus ride to Toronado. Draught and bottle list dominated (not surprising) by every Rogue beer you can imagine. Glad to have stopped in. |
