| monkeychugg55 (13), Joliet, Illinois | | April 20, 2009 Pretty much the same as the one in Joliet, technically on the same street. Almost identical selection of bottles, bombers, and sixers/four-packs. Decent for the area, but nothing amazing. | | hogan873 (11), Joliet, Illinois | | March 27, 2009 Nice convienent location for me. Nothing real exciting about the place. It’s a liquor store with a big beer selection. There’s one cooler of singles from which to make 6-packs. The price for a 6-pack is $9.99 no matter what beers you select, so the value is actually pretty good compared to other bottle shops. Otherwise, they have a nice selection of 6-packs and 4-packs in coolers. Across from the coolers is a more expansive collection of 6-packs, 4-packs, and large bottles. Service is adequate, but no one seems to really know beer. Overall, an easy place to shop with a decent beer selection. | popephred (5), Plainfield, Illinois does not count - explanation | | July 28, 2008 [ Updated July 30, 2008 ] New liquor store in the area next to a CVS pharmacy. Ambiance is what you would expect from a strip mall store: brightly lit with florescent lights, linoleum flooring, etc. As far as selection goes, don’t expect much. While they may have a number of micros, this is a store that focuses on macros, moderate-priced wine, and liquor sales. They have two coolers devoted to individual bottle sales, though the overall selection is lacking and a six pack of mix and match rang in at $10. On one visit, I did have the person ringing my sale ask for my preferences, other visits have been matter-of-fact and perfunctory. On my last visit, the cashier did provide me with his opinions of the beers I picked, which was nice. However, it does get the job done and it does carry some beer that I really like, so that will keep me coming in. I wouldn’t go out of my way though to find it, though... |
