Went to lunch with family, place is packed in and outside but tables open up fast. Pizzas are great, try the Roma it is really good. Beer selection is great, I was surprised that they carry a lot of beers from other local brewers, you get an excellent selection. Prices are reasonable; definitely would recommend it and come back again.

Visited for lunch with the family during my vacation to San Diego. Really relaxed vibe with picnic tables jammed in to accommodate communal seating. All services is order at the bar (food and beer are separate queues). With the kids in tow, I didn’t mind this too much. The beer list was really good - both PP beers and well chosen guest beers. The pizza and apps we had were really tasty, and was really the perfect lunch before heading (walking) down to the beach. This was just a really comfortable, friendly place.

I hesitate strongly if asked to pick my favourite pizza port between Solana and Carlsbad, but I think Solana might be the winner. I just prefer the lower ceilings, tighter atmosphere, although perhaps a bit more familial. The pizza was astounding. Its proximity with San Diego makes it an absolute must as it might be better than any beer destination in SD. While the tap selection is not quite as overwhelming as Carlsbad, it is still top notch with their own IPA being nothing short of delicious and the guest list also being seriously inviting. The feel of the place would gladly having me spend an evening here, going through several pizza and pints. Even the prices remain democratic and the staff is not shy to launch little jokes when a pizza is ready.

Another awesome location, right by the water. Lots of people inside, many locals drinking local beers, always a good sign and indeed, a good line for people buying beer. Great pizzas. About 10 home beers on tap, and many other craft beers available. Really friendly staff that even let me sample some of the beer as extras. Inside has a few tv’s, long benches that make it easy to chat with other people. Nice experience.

Pretty surprised I haven’t rated this place. The first PP I ever went too and its always had a special place for me. The major issues about this place is that it is often very packed and you may have to wait in a longish line for beer other than that, you should be here right now, what are you waiting for?

Haven’t been in a few years but i used to frequent back in the mid-90’s and I try to hit it when I return to SD. I always enjoyed their beers back in the day and the selection was great. Family friendly with videos and picnic benches. Great beach atmosphere in a great location. Just a fun place to kick back, have some tasty brews and great pizza.

The original of anything always has a certain patina of authenticity and history, and for me this place is no exception. Much smaller than Carlsbad, but with a denser tap list than I have encountered at either location. Food is a little rougher around the edges but just as good. Video games, benches, beach mood... all a go.

My favorite pizza port. Always nice when you used to bump into Tommee before he moved up the ladder even more. Great brews and pizza

This is like an adult Chucky Cheese with people buzzing around everywhere in a packed atmosphere chowing on pizza and tipping back pitchers. Great selection from the brewery along with Russian River selections and beers like La Folie on draft. Somewhat annoying, but worth the bother, for sure.

Cool spot in SB to go for lunch and an eye-full of beautiful women dressed in beach gear. Greg and Yiga brew some truly incredible beers out of this little joint. Picnic tables on the outside are sweet and a bit quieter than the inside. Vid games in back, gets mad hectic during luch sometimes. I’ve visited here many times and got to enjoy some guru, sharkbite, ipa’s, good shit from the two madmen brewers! Pizza’s are bomb and they usually come out pretty quick. Nice place to be, right next to the sweet pacific ocean~
