alexchafe (1), , Newfoundland does not count - explanation | | February 17, 2009 nice looking store, most are attached to a large grocery store, which is convenient. service in store is highly variable, as is common with large chains like this. beer selection is absolutely terrible and over 80% labatt and molson. if you buy a clear bottle beer (old specked hen or innis & gunn) you are almost guaranteed to have it skunked. prices are government regulated and therefore higher than anywhere else.
it’s a complete shame this is the only place newfoundlanders can buy their beer. | BeerMountie (4), Bonavista, Newfoundland does not count - explanation | | February 13, 2006 The staff were very helpful. The beer I was looking for was not available so one of the clerks checked their computer system to find a store that had it in stock and even called to confirn it was on the shelfs. That said the NLLC has a fair to good selection of liquor and wine but a terrible selaction of beer. Their website lists 95 beer that they have available and 80 percent of that is Labatts or Molsons. Its enought to make you turn to single malt scotch which they have a great selection of. |
