11 reviews for Bishops Arms Vasagatan
senior (1), Enskede, Sweden does not count - explanation | | November 16, 2009 There are too many customers, so the staff just serve all beers the same "swedish" way despite whatever you ask for- they are nice, but not too interested in beers, as they are in the other Pubs of the same chain - For a "quicky" its a good place for a beer If you want something more, go to any of the other Bishop Arms in the Stockholm area | | FatPhil (121), Espoo, Finland | | November 8, 2009 The row of taps is quite an impressive sight! OK, several banks were dupes, but still there were 20 different beers on, I’m sure. Staff were just handle-turners, it seemed. Selection OK - some breweries I’d never even heard of before. Environment a touch sterile, but I was there only minutes after opening. Worth sticking your head around the door certainly, but not a place I think I could call a ’local’, with its noisy high street location. | | ekstedt (46), Göteborg, Sweden | | September 25, 2009 A typical Bishops Arms, with a little netter selection than average. A bit slow service. | | plovmand (24), Helsinge, Denmark | | September 8, 2009 A very large bar with lots of tables and lots of noisy people eating. Service was very fine. I had an infected beer and got another one even though I finished half of it (didnt realise it was infected until I had a zip from another tap of the same beer). Had a variety of samples of the tapped beers just by informing the bartender I was rating beers. They have a wide selection of beers but only a few rarities. Beers are quite pricy but compared to the rest of Stockholm it was quite fair. The best thing is that they are opened at sunday noon when all the other interesting bars around are closed. | | finol (11), Nacka (Stockholm), Sweden | | July 5, 2009 A big plase where it’s easy to get a seat even on weekends.
The staff seems uninterested in beer.
The selection is quite wide from Swedish micros to americans. Real raritys are few and rediculisly priced.
Mainly pub food at good prices.
The pricing on beer in general and american in particular are to high, eg a small bottle of Southern Tier IPA almost $ 20.
Out of 4 beers today 3 had passed their BB-date by 4-10 months, not acceptable! | | oh6gdx (93), Vasa, Finland | | April 23, 2009 When I visited in early March 2009 they had a good selection of Scandinavian beers and one of the fridges was stuffed with British beers. Also had some US and Belgian beers. Service varied a bit between the staff, one seemed to have a bad day, but the rest were nice and also could recommend some of the rarer stuff for the beer geeks. I had a burger to eat, which was on the lunchlist, food came quite fast and was delicious, so all in all a nice place to have lunch and some beers at. The place got quite crowded from 1130-13 abouts, but after that it got more silent. | | Svesse (88), Hässelby, Sweden | | September 3, 2008 Rather big pub in the Bishop’s Arms chain located close to the central railway station. Fairly large selection of draught beer with occasional rarities from Swedish micros. Very good bottle selection with beers from Belgium, US, Denmark and other countries. Service is friendly and mostly good. Food is good. Definitely worth a visit. | | baggio (19), norrtälje, Sweden | | May 11, 2008 Located just next to the central railwaystation this is a perfect stop on your way home or if you’re waiting for your train. About 20-25 different beers on draught and among them quite a few swedish micros. Another 2-300 beers are available in bottles.
A bit crowded from time to time tho. Esp after working hours during weekdays. | | Jonte (31), Gothenburg, Sweden | | April 25, 2008 Visited on a quiet sunday afternoon. A nice place to spend some time while waiting for your train. Good selection of swedish micros on tap and a decent selection of bottled beers as well. | | rlgk (80), Vårgårda, Sweden | | March 12, 2008 Located in central Stockholm, only blocks away from the railway station. Quite nice selection with swedish micro-beers on tap. The fridges also offer a good selection of bottle. Crowded at times, but visit as early as youcan, and you probably will have a good time here... |
