JBVatkeens (4), Florida does not count - explanation | | October 27, 2009 Any place that tries to rotate what they have is good in my book. I like the atmosphere and it’s convenient to where I live. | | drowland (42), Tallahassee, Florida | | August 11, 2009 [ Updated November 8, 2009 ] Just moved to Tallahassee and immediately stopped by this place by recommendation - and I’d recommend it as well. This is the best liquor store for beer in the Tallahassee area for sure. The ambiance is pretty typical but nice - quiet, friendly, a little dark, modern, and clean cut. The selection of beers is the best you’re going to get in Tallahassee. It’s not like visiting the rows and rows and rows of beers at Sam’s Wine & Spirits in Chicago, but, like I said - it’s the best you’re going to get in Tally. The service was simply impeccable! The guy that helped me out and talked to me was at my side my entire time (but not intrusive!) and was friendly, knowledgeable, and also a bartender at the nice bar Proof next door (co-owned and in cahoots). The prices are actually really reasonable for what they offer - they really aren’t trying to make a million dollars off of craft beer drinkers. Overall, this is probably the only craft beer place I’ll be visiting in Tallahassee any time soon, along with it’s bar next door. | | daknole (90), Plantation, Florida | | July 18, 2009 What a great spot! Nice selection of beer and right next door is a superb pub/bar. I was lucky enough to run into Byron--one if the owners. He let me have some samples from his taps and he even brought me a sweet beer that he had from a recent tasting. Great place!! | | darn1207 (24), Tallahassee, Florida | | June 23, 2008 [ Updated August 7, 2008 ] Best bottle shop right now in tally. Mostly the regulars that we can get in this area - but they add to it fairly often. Some of the new offerings come and go pretty quick though. They had bells hopslam for what seemed liked a day before it was gone, never to be seen again. It’s hit or miss as far as price. A lot of the six packs are a buck or two less than Market Square - but some of the singles are overpriced. The owner knows his stuff and they’re trying. That’s all we can ask for in a beer starved town. | | Aurelius (89), Tallahassee, Florida | | June 3, 2008 Decent selection of beer, as good as any in town. A few off-the-path offerings, but nothing unheard of in Florida. A little on the pricey side. They don’t break 6 packs, but they do have a pretty nice selection of singles. Close to FSU campus, hard to get to from anyplace other than the west part of town though. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I did see the Ratebeer shelf talkers. I’d been dragging my feet getting over there, but the selection of Christmas/Winter beer closeouts made it worth the trip for me. | Sandman2222 (9), Florida does not count - explanation | | April 13, 2008 [ Updated July 31, 2008 ] I was directed to this store by another liquor store (gotta love college kids’ loyalty). when I walked in, I was shocked. 400+ beers, tastings throughout the months, and the people that I met really knew their beer! A far cry from what I’m used to finding in the Tampa area. Stop in and enjoy their selection.
Just in: Liquor Loft is adding on a LOUNGE to the premise. Expected within the next 4-6 weeks. | johnnyhippo (1), does not count - explanation | | April 10, 2008 Phenomenal new liquor / beer store in Tallahassee that raises the bar for all other local establishments. Beautiful store layout and design, top-notch customer service and an endless selection of beer. Prices are far lower than other local stores - a must see! | | pintocb (17), Darsville, Georgia | | April 9, 2008 Well....mixed emotions here. The location is easy to find, but hard to leave due to traffic. The staff was very attentive and almost followed me around, which is tough to do as the place isn’t that big. I think they have the potential for having a selection that is just sick. Unfortunatley I don’t think they keep stuff in stock as many people know about the place. I drove an hour to get there and picked up a few things. I would advise you to call ahead and ask what they have before you go. I think it is a great store and I came on the wrong day. | FaSho (1), does not count - explanation | | January 29, 2008 Ridiculous selection of beers, open and friendly, definitely check it out! | DJGator (1), does not count - explanation | | November 14, 2007 New place in Tallahassee that is CONSTANTLY getting new brews. Best selection within hours of driving. Very knowledgeable staff and very friendly. Tons of beers to choose from. |
