One the best in Toronto, a must stop! Trust me.

Volo is a very small bar with a very large beer menu. Ranging from local taps to american and european bottle imports, they have a bit of everything at a reasonable + price. Service was very good, we received plenty of attention. The ambiance lacks a little as there was absolutely no music so we were overhearing everyone’s conversations.

Having been visiting Toronto regularly for three years now, I can safely say, this is the best beer bar in town. Small in size, big in beer selection, knowledgeable, and friendly wait staff; half of which is family. The owner, Ralph Morana is usually there as well. Great place for cask beer, and they have festivals and events year round. Anytime I’m in town, this is the place I go to

I met jerc here while on Toronto for a few days. Located a bit further north of downtown than some other places it is still pretty easily accessible by mass transit. The tap and bottle list represent not only Ontario but soon Quebec and other provinces. I missed a big Dieu de Ciel tasting by only a week.

A cozy little place, it was virtually deserted despite the Film Festival and a few other events taking place. Maybe because it is located a bit further away it gets less tourists. Service was a bit hit or miss; I would have liked a bit more attention and promptness given the number of patrons. Overall though I will be returning here on my next visit.

Visited summer 2008. I totally agree with Volo being the best beer bar in Toronto. The place itself is a real pub. Small enough to be cozy. Very warm feeling. Far from the sports-bar or any of those places with neon signs all over the place. The type of place any pub-crawler beer-geek will enjoy. A really nice patio on the side. My note say that the tap list were 9 local Ontario micros (Scotch Irish, Grand River, Wellington, etc.). There’s not that many interesting beer in Ontario but Volo seem to carefully pick and choose their lineup. Plus you’re pretty much guaranteed to have Denisons Weissbier on tap. Just that is enough to justify a detour. Very impressive bottle list by Canadian standards, however that’s nothing you won’t find in average American beer bar. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. A very nice place.

Visited on a cool and rainy Saturday afternoon. Interesting ambiance with small inside and outside seating areas. There was only a handful of people in the place when we arrived. Service was prompt and attentive. Draft selection was less than inspiring but there were interesting local and European beers on draft. Unfortunately, they were out of some of the better offerings. Bottle selection was good as well, but the prices on some of the nicer and rarer bottles was a bit steep. Food looked good and was generally reasonably priced. Definitely worth a stop while in town.

Great options on the taps as well as in bottles. Bottles are a little too pricey for my liking but all the same you don’t see a place with this kind of selection very often. My experience with the service hasn’t been the greatest but maybe it just wasn’t the best waiter/not his day. Still probably the number one spot it Toronto

This is the likely the best pub I have ever been too. Superb service, great selection, super friendly staff. A must see if you are in TO.

Definitely the top beer spot in Toronto to my mind. Nice patio in the summer, although without it the place fills up quickly. Staff are great and extremely well-versed in the beer. Impressive, large bottle selection and wonderful ever-rotating tap selection of mostly Ontario craft beers. Draught beers reasonably-priced, especially with $5 pint Mondays. Bottles will tend to set you back as might be expected. It’s never been my favourite spot to grab a bite, but with the beer selection I’ll keep coming back.

I stopped in here yesterday totally out of the blue, somewhat lost and wandering around Toronto. Ran into Bobsy from the bartowel.com. A very cool little place, with a semi-spacious patio portion which is ideal for enjoying a pint and good conversation. Staff is very friendly and knowlegable about beer. Tap line up seemed stellar but their bottle selection seemed out of this world to me. Only got to stay for 25 mins or so, but would love to come back for a lot more beer! Bottles line every uninhabited corner of the place, which is cool, some interesting things just lying around. An awesome spot, I would be here ALL the time if I lived remotely close.
