| willblake (59), Belcamp, Maryland | | April 11, 2008 [ Updated May 3, 2008 ] This is a sister store to the Red Bank Spirits (Newman Springs Rd) and Middletown Spirits (rt 35, I’ll get around to listing that one soon). Thank Bob the beer guy from Red Bank Spirits for the spacious layout and initial selection found in this store. I agree that it is overtaking Ocean W&S and I’m now making a stop here on my way to grocery shopping at Wegman’s (which is attached to Ocean W&S). Still no ’wow’ beers on the shelves, but boy do they have the room to load this store to the hilt with every beer imaginable if the place ever gets the traffic to support it. Unfortunately, since it’s about a mile off the highway down Sunset ave, it seems unlikely to succeed. I hope not. Oh, and they have a selection of groceries, some of the regular corner store type stuff, and some gourmet stuff, including organic and vegetarian foods. This is not the place to go if you’re in from out of town, in that case go to Red Bank if you can, but otherwise it’s worth a stop and with good prices it’s worth a regular visit. | | cryfreedmb (12), Ocean, New Jersey | | November 23, 2007 [ Updated April 2, 2008 ] Just opened last week (11/14/07). Once a Foodtown, Spirits bought the place and turned it into a HUGE warehouse style liquior store. Excellent selection of beer and wine. Beats out both two other big local liquior stores. My favorite was the shelf of some what rare brews. And best of all are the prices. $7 a six pack for Brooklyn and Weyerbacker. $11.99 for a 12 of Sam Adams all styles. Check it out. 4/2: Starting to over take Ocean Wine and Spirts in the beer department. Better selection overall, more singles and better prices. |
