6 reviews for Total Wine and More - Winston-Salem
| nearbeer (100), Knoxville, Tennessee | | September 23, 2008 A little more laid-back, with more spacious ailseways than the other TWaMs I’ve been in. About the same selections as the others, with maybe a bit better emphasis on regionals. A slightly friendlier staff too. As with all of the stores in this chain, about 95% or more of the beers are available as singles, which is my main rating criteria besides the selection. | | Butters (150), Virginia | | August 6, 2008 Very similar to the other one’s I’ve visited. The staff, while nice, was very unknowledgable about the beers they sold. I personally enjoy the ’warehouse’ atmosphere. Great selection of non-rare beers especially for regional variety. Good prices too. I like this chain. | | Veeve (22), Winston-Salem, North Carolina | | June 14, 2008 Selection crazy good.
ambiance, like a warehouse.
Service - guy knows what he’s talking about but is pressed to give recs, doesn’t know how to let people just browse.
Can get what you need there, but remember all bottles, obvoiusly. | | Scubatrip (27), Winston-Salem, North Carolina | | December 5, 2005 As the name might lead you to believe, it’s more a wine store than beer store. They do have a decent micro selection, especially for Winston-Salem. The selection of macro kegs and cases is pretty good, and prices aren’t bad. | | slang (10), Columbia, South Carolina | | November 10, 2005 Warehouse style store. Mainly wine, but has a long isle dedicated to beer. Alot of micros Avery, Flying Dog, Unibroue, etc. A decent amount of low-grav. singles. There is also a small selection of 750’s and plenty of six-packs. Their 21 yr old hassle/form just pisses me off. Prices were higher than expected, I’d go to City Beverage. | | Zeswaft (102), Seattle, Washington | | October 28, 2005 When you walk in it is a little overwhelming. A huge store dedicated to wine and beer. Hands down there is 100fold more wines than beer. However, they have at least 150 beers in singles and some beers they only offer in six-packs. Other than City Beverage (CB), this is the only place in Winston to get good beer. They sell kegs at about the same price as CB. Prices for cases, bottles, and six-packs are generally a dollar or so cheaper than CB. They have a lot of, in my opinion, undesirable european beers and lame american micros. Since the repeal of the 6% law they are getting tons of new stuff in but CB still has them beat. Currently they are really trying to hock the high gravity Rogues and Unibroue. They sell cheeses, candy, and nuts. They have cigars. If you are 21 they have the most retarded policy of making you fill out this form and photocopy your driver’s license EVERY time you go in there. It’s a HUGE pain in the ass. |
