| msante79 (73), Orland Hills, Illinois | | November 13, 2009 Pretty good sized liquor store. Lots of wine and liquor and pretty good craft beer selection. Especially for the area which is mostly blue collar. Mostly six packs and bombers. Picked up a Avery Brabrant. Prices were pretty good from what I seen for the area. They had The Oracle from Bells which was a whole dollar cheaper than what Holiday Market. Good place to stop if in the area. | | northernbrews (10), Allen Park, Michigan | | January 13, 2009 Quality: The second best beer store in the area besides Merchants. Good selection of beers from around the World/US/MI.
Service: This is one of the weeknesses of DD. If you ask someone about a specific beer, I’m not sure you would get a real good answer. They also have not taken back bottles I have bought there (not sure why not). I’m sure if you asked for a certain product, they would likely get it for you.
Selection: They have one of the best selections of local, domestic, and imported craft beers in the area. Like most stores, I wish they had a better selection of domestic singles.
Value: Some stuff is cheaper than other stores in the area and some is more. I’d say they are pretty competitively priced for what they have.
The best part about it is the fact that the Oak Cafe is about a half mile down the road.
| | bgburdman9 (23), Columbus, Ohio | | January 11, 2007 First bottle shop stop on the michigan trip. Found some good stuff but i didnt buy much because i didnt reallly want sixers of everything. Doesnt look like a god beer store on the outside. Kind of like party shop. | | sliffy (86), Columbus, Ohio | | December 20, 2006 Pretty decent store. Wide range of michigan micros, with a pretty good import selection. Staff was reasonably helpful, and if nothing else friendly. Even if I did have an Ohio State shirt on at the time. | | IPFreely (92), Lewiston, New York | | June 26, 2005 First thing: split up your six packs!!! The selection was very nice but it sucks when you have to buy an entire sixer. For someone cruising through town and looking for new things, not being able to buy singles of most of the beers is a major inconvenience. Otherwise, a very fine selection of local micros, Belgians, and meads. Certainly worth a stop if you’re in the area just south of Detroit. | | 11026 (58), Alabama | | October 6, 2004 Outside looks like Macro beer Hell. Inside is a Mini-merchants setup. Lots of Macroswill, but a very respectible selection of belgians, Michigan micros and others. Best selection of mead I have seen anywhere. Friendly staff, willing to make orders. Best of all five minutes away from my home. |
