| Aggy360 (10), Anchorage/ Vista,CA, Alaska | | April 29, 2009 [ Updated September 8, 2009 ] Nice small, local place. The employees are well educated in beer and will serve your drink in the right glass and at close to the right temp. Huge selection of brews (Import, Domestic, and Local). A great selection of beers and meads on tap as well. There is more brews on the menu than food. The food is good but overpriced. A great place for good beer and conversations. | | savnac (57), Palmer, Alaska | | February 27, 2009 [ Updated October 25, 2009 ] Good place for beer. Good mix of local, domestic, and imported beer. They serve each unique beer in the right glass, at the right temperature, and with the proper head. The bar area can get crowded. Both the food and beer are good but overpriced in my opinion. | | BlackDonald (59), Boise, Idaho | | July 31, 2008 My favorite place in town to get a drink and hang out. Its not very tourist and its off the beaten path. This is the place for beer lovers who want to drink a beer surrounded by other people who love craft brewing. They always have the seasonals before anyone else and they serve in the proper glassware. | keithf (1), , Alaska does not count - explanation | | July 10, 2008 When I lived in Anchorage I was a regular here. For the beer lover there’s really no better place in town. Ken (the owner) was the master brewer at the first microbrewery in Alaska, and is extremely knowledgeable. Will was voted best bartender in the Pacific Northwest. The rest of the staff is also extremely knowledgeable. Taps rotate, but there is typically something for whatever you might crave, locals and Belgians alike. Bottle selection is extensive. The bar area is quite pleasant, and the clientèle typically quite friendly. For me, this is the beer bar against which others are judged. All around it’s a good place to be, and I wish I were there now. | McD (2), does not count - explanation | | December 25, 2007 Hard to believe this place is in a strip mall. | JRBowie (4), Atascosa, Texas does not count - explanation | | March 10, 2007 Great cafe in anchorage the best selection of wierd beer probaly in town. Check it out. | | Braudog (478), Dayton, Ohio | | July 17, 2005 [ Updated June 26, 2009 ] July 2005: This is the hidden gem of Alaska for beer nerds. This little restaurant in a strip mall in Anchorange has a stellar list of beers ... 16 regional and imports on tap, plus a gargantuan list of bottles, with mostly Belgian and quality European selections. The staff knows their stuff, too, and every selection was poured with skill and in the right glass (usually with the actual brewers logo). Verrrrry cool place. ADDITION: No one comes close to Ken and Shauna at CA in terms of customer service. Harder to get to than the venerable Humpy’s for tourists, but this is by far the #1 beer destination in Alaska. |
