The lighting was a little to dark for my liking. The service was average, but the food was excellent.

Great food , and the Taylor Janes Raspberry Ale is awesome. The only downside to this place is the parking. It is located near the UofA so parking sucks most of the time. Service has always been ok. They have pre-filled growlers, they don’t do refills on site.

nice and dark bar in a busy part of town. seven of their own beers on tap though none are really good. servers are the ditzy college type.

Nice layout downstairs, upstairs indoor bar area seems like an afterthought (or maybe just engineered for their undergrad crowds). House beers are decent, though I’m not a huge fan of their IPA, and it’s disappointing to see that they’ll stock BMC alongside their own taps. Food is above average, though not much. Stick to burgers and pale ale.

Not a bad little place. Bar was really small, and I didn’t try the food. Pretty nice place to hang out now that school is back in.... but hard to find a place to park on a Friday Night.

Finally decide to stop in once college was out for the semester. Fairly busy during lunch hours. We were seated right away. Good size menu. There were 6 GB beers on tap. Some basic BMC and liquor is available. Food arrived quickly and it was very good. Beer was decent too. The only knock on this place is they won’t fill an outside growler. You have to use one of thiers. Didn’t feel like paying another $4 for another growler then the $9 for the beer. Worth a stop when in Tucson.

Agree with everything said on here so far. The service is hit or miss, yet good looking coeds. The ambiance is of a brewpub located just yards from a large college campus. Loud and energetic. The food is standard fare. Not a bad place, and I’d recommend it because its one of the places to go in Tucson, and has a great UofA vibe. Will say the rootbeer they make is the best beverage they have.

This place is right outside the gates of the U of Arizona so it’s a huge college hang out. So it can be crowded and very noisy at times and practically deserted at others. The food menu is rather large, tends to burgers and sandwiches, salads and pasta dishes. The beer menu is usually 5-8 beers with one or two seasonals. There is outdoor seating, which while nice in February may be a uncomfortable in July. Decent food, OK beers, I understand that they have a new brewers so the beers might be changing soon. The waiter we had was uneducated about beer. When asked about if they had any Cask Ales. His reply was “No we make all our own beer here.”

This place is located just outside the main gate of the University of Arizona. It’s in a new trendy shopping mall. The original Gentle Ben’s was in a funky old house with a basement and that place had atmosphere! The new Gentle Ben’s is boring and not worth a special trip. The large college crowd makes it loud and noisy, and the service is hit-or-miss -- on average, so-so. The beer isn’t anything to brag about, the selection isn’t great. If I’m at the U of A and on the west side of campus, I might stop in at Gentle Ben’s, but I live 12 miles away and I’d never make a special trip just to go there.

Went once and it was OK. Last time I was in Tucson, they were closed for vacation. WTF?
