6 reviews for Mountain Goat Brewery
| nate2g (151), Brisbane, Australia | | August 21, 2009 The bar is set-up inside the brewery serving the current range available. There’s a randall (courtesy of Wig & Pen) which from what I’ve been told is now a permanent fixture, which is great and on my visit they had the surefoot stout flowing through the randall with fresh locally sourced coffee beans - bloody nice that was! The staff were great and for the busy Friday nite session it was all run smoothly. I didn’t try the pizza but they did look good and as other’s have mentioned the beers are so much fresher that what you get in the bottle. Check it out! | | Stew41 (71), Caulfield, Australia | | January 16, 2009 Great scene and good fun. Super laid back atmosphere serving good beers and good pizza. Well worth poking your head in every 3 or so months given the rotating seasonal taps. Royston is literally a 1 minute walk away. | Samma (6), , Australia does not count - explanation | | April 21, 2008 Good fun to make the trek into the industrial part out back of Bridge Rd in Richmond (about 20 minutes be tram from central Melbourne). Funky building, with big bar and scope to sit around inside and out. Good range of their beers on tap. Had some food on sale when I was last there too... | | Bragesnak (67), Aarhus, Denmark | | March 25, 2008 Cool place - bar practically in the middle of the brewery. No seats but great mood on fridays.
Their 2 regulars and usually a saison beer on tap | | voota (92), Melbourne, Australia | | November 1, 2007 As mullet said, this is a great place to drink on a friday night. As well as the regular range of mountain goat beers, they have the seasonals, like bigfoot, and other great stuff. I’ve never tried the food, staff are friendly and the atmosphere, although quite busy is still pretty relaxed. | | mullet (133), Melbourne, Australia | | April 22, 2007 Great place for beers on a Friday night, especially now that they’ve started doing brewery-only, tap-only seasonals. Beers are always very fresh obviously, and if you’ve based your opinion on this brewery’s beers based on their bottled product you really should get there and check out the stuff on tap - it’s ten times better (except for the IPA, haha.) You’re basically drinking in the brewery, it has a very communal kind of atmosphere and they serve these weird little home-made pizza things, or you can go over the road to the Royston for a meal (and more beers.) |
