| bluevegie (29), Perth, Australia | | April 10, 2009 Didn"t have a bite to eat at this place but a nice cold beer out the front . Food did look good, beers were even better, well worth a visit. | | mullet (133), Melbourne, Australia | | January 19, 2009 Awesome old bank building in the middle of town. A really civilised place for a beer or meal. Food looked really good but we only had chips (good!). The whole HH range on tap plus an international guest (Chimay White when I was there) and a Vic guest (something from Bridge Rd). Only thing I’d say is that the beers you can’t get elsewhere (dubbel and Celtic) aren’t quite up to the standard of their regular stuff so it’s kind of a let-down in terms of exciting beer. Of course, brewery fresh ESB is always going to shine - it’s worth stopping in just for that. | | Stew41 (71), Caulfield, Australia | | July 31, 2008 [ Updated December 1, 2009 ] This place is completely top shelf. Offers a very credible dining option in the non-winery Yarra Valley restaurant market in fact I would it just behind Giant Steps and the Healsville Hotel. Super classy fitout in a beautiful old bank chamber. 8 beers on tap inc. MAES and Bridge Road Australian Ale. All prices are very fair and they do serve sample paddles. Well picked bottle range of about 25 beers. Good wine list too. A must visit. | | voota (92), Melbourne, Australia | | May 4, 2008 Located in the main strip of Yarra Glen, great looking restaurant with a stylish, modern interior. Staff were friendly, and were happy to chat a little about the beers, prices are a tad expensive, but they do have a tasting tray of all 6 of their beers for $7. 8 taps in all, 6 of the hargreaves hill beers, maes pilsener and a guest micro, which today was Bridge Road Aussie ale. Bottled selection in the fridge is well thought out and suggests these guys really know their stuff.
The beers are mostly good, the ESB is world class... Didn’t eat but it looked good on other peoples plates. You’d be silly to drive to the yarra valley without at least having a look at this place. | Samma (6), , Australia does not count - explanation | | April 29, 2008 Popped in here last weekend. They have a good variety of their own brews on tap, including a Dubble and a Red Ale that aren’t available in bootles (yet). Also have Maes on tap and good variety of imported beauties in the fridge.
Good selection of glassware, and the menu looked very good (although we didn’t eat as we were on our way to a wedding). |
