Lots of stuff here that you can’t get in the other beer shops in Bruges (Black Albert, Schaerbeekse Kriek, Alvinne Extra). Prices are ok, though pehaps a little higher than one would expect, and the service is friendly. Thought it was kind of cramped in here, looked a bit shabby as well.

I must have beet mj to this store by a few days. Probably had the same woman, who was patient and helpful. I was impressed but the antique feel for the store. very warm and welcoming with lots of little trinkets in every corner. Not a lot of glassware but different glasses than other places. Selection was good, lots of sour stuff, 1od only 2 places that had De Cam Oude Lambik. And the ONLY place in Belgium where I found, what I think is one of the last Smisje Extras. Also had one bottle of Oeral, could not locate this bottled anyhere else either. I would recommend people stop by this place while in Brugge.

The woman working the store was very patient and helpful with English. For some reason, we found a 750ml bottle of De Cam Oude Lambik from 2000... and it was only 5.40 euro (!!). No bars or cafes had this one, so we had to grab it and lug it around to find a nice tree to sit under to drink it, but eventually we just drank it in the hostel bar that night, which was actually a lot of fun. Back to the store itself - selection is somewhat limited and smaller than the Beer Store, but still respectable, especially when you may find a gem or two.

I give it a four for ambiance because it has a working fireplace in the backroom, which was very nice and warming on a cold day. Good selection, nice glassware. Didn’t see that many rare beers, but then again I’m not sure what to ask for...

Easy to find, small shop where the bottlss stand close. Maybe they did not have many rarities but still the number of beers alone makes it worth a visit. The man serving me was very friendly and knew his beers. He managed to serve more teams at at time.

[Edit 7/2007] Not as cosy now in the summer, with no fire and you could see all the dirt. Good selection, but only a few updates in the selection over the past 4 months. Prices are ok.] (3/2007) A great beer shop, and the only one I’ve seen so far with an open fire (!). The selection is also above average, with some rarities. There are even baskets for collecting the beers. A must visit when in Bruges - if not else, then at least for the atmosphere.

The best beer store in Bruges. More rare beers than I saw elsewhere. Lots of glassware, some wine, beer related gifts. Service stayed out of my way until I asked for help, and gladly wrapped a glass in bubblewrap and wrapped and boxed all of my bottles as well. Interior is upscale but the prices are reasonable. Note there is not a sign above the store outside. The Italian restaurant only steps down the street is great for a good, inexpensive meal.

Another Brugge beer-store, another so-so selection. None of the 3 beer stores I visited in Brugge was very interesting. However the Bacchus Cornelius was the best of the 3 stores I visited. Most well known Belgium beer from the Flanders region were there but not rare/vintage beers. Just a nice classic selection. Each major Belgium city (Gent, Brussels, Antwerp, Liège, etc.) has one or many beer store with a more interesting selection than the stores in Brugge. Small, packed, ok price, nice atmosphere and friendly service but nothing I couldn’t find elsewhere.

Good selection but not spectacular. Service here is quite good, appropriate suggestions and excellent English. This store will have my business again because of the human factor. Long friendly conversation with the woman who runs the place, she’s knowledgeable and seems quite dedicated to this profession. And super nice. Order was delivered free to my hotel, all bottles individually wrapped. Street ouside was really torn up, you’ll have to plan your route carefully until it’s fixed.

Right in the middle of town, not far from the main square. Tight packed store walled with sinlges from around Belgium and elsewhere. We didn’t want to leave! Reasonable prices. A few rare things, but mostly stuff you can find around. Brugge has several beer stores but this is the best one. Delivery to your hotel room with orders over 35 Euros. The owner really knows her stuff and can help picking things out. Gift packs, glasses and some hard liquors too. Probably the only place you’d need to go in Brugge to by singles.
