azlondon (8), Fribourg, Switzerland does not count - explanation | | September 16, 2008 Also accidentally walked past it (in January), and it is basically a gift/souvenir shop with an alright beer selection. Standard Belgian selection, except the three crates of Westvleteren on the floor! Bought W12 for €6 and W6 for €5 (no W8) as a gift for a friend, so he ain’t complaining. | | ¾ (599), Colorado | | June 4, 2008 Seems like this is more of a tourist gift and trinket shop than a beer store, but they do actually have a wide selection of Belgians, including many lambic and trappist bottles. I scored a gem (!!) of Chapeau Christmas Gueuze (lowest rated gueuze I haven’t had yet, yay!). Lots of glassware but more was typical, and nearly no gueuze glasses, which is what we were searching for. Worth a visit if you’re just walking around south of city center, but certainly not the best store in town. | | beastiefan2k (108), Lawrence (formely NYC), Kansas | | May 29, 2008 I visited this place without R, just walked by it and walked in, had no idea this was even on the site (unnecessary now). This is basically a straight up tourist store that happens to have a little more beer than the other ones. There was nothing interesting here selection wise except American Budweiser, which there has to be called Bud. The good thing is they have a lot of glasses pairing with each beer. I saw 2 Rodenbach glasses for 3 Euro, even though I just paid more at Bier Temple. I was not even tempted to buy any beer. I did a good glass for .25 cents, sitting in the bargain bin outside the store. Skip it unless you are looking for a glass. | | downender (116), Bristol, England | | October 8, 2007 [ Updated October 9, 2007 ] Visited in March 2007. The selection was smaller than on my previous visit the year before. As stated before, more of a gift shop but had some unusual Flanders beers. | | sayravai (93), Helsinki, Finland | | July 23, 2007 The selection is not that large, but there are some rare beers, including most of the Regenboogs. Lots of glassware, shirts and other items, too. Prices below local average. | | kmeves (97), Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin | | June 25, 2007 I went into this store looking for a couple bottles of Jaegermeister and walked out with a bunch of beer as well. Decent prices and a nice selection. | | mistersinalin (24), St. Paul, Minnesota | | June 7, 2007 I stopped in here to grab a couple bottles to take home. They had the Liefmans Kriek and La Trappe Dubbel that I grabbed at a reasonable price. The ladies working there were very nice. They even volunteered that shipping was way too expensive. This is a good retailer in a great town. | | matta (91), Tampa, Florida | | April 12, 2007 Man, Brugge is such a cool little town… it’s so clean and authentic it almost doesn’t seem like a factual place, but it is. I stumbled upon this bottle shop, souvenir store… a really nice selection of beers, probably 200 different bottles and a bunch off Belgian beer swag. | | Glouglouburp (214), Montreal, Quebec | | November 15, 2006 [ Updated November 16, 2006 ] More a gift shop as a beer shop. You’ll find many beer-related items and a limited selection of bottles. By Belgium beer-store standard the selection is way below average. You’ll find most of these beers in good Belgium corner stores. No reason to visit this place unless you need a t-shirt. | | EithCubes (76), Indiana | | June 22, 2006 Found this one by accident. Service was fine and the offering of miscellaney and brewerania was very good. Didn’t see anything that couldn’t be found easily elsewhere. |
