August 31, 2009 Somewhat hidden down a small alley. A classy underground bar with only a limitied number of drafts BUT Westvleteren 12 under the counter for 10E. of course, worth the stop for this. |

June 3, 2009 Visited late May 2009. 2 minute walk from Grand Place and 10 meters from Beertempel. In a small alley way. Very cozy and calm atmosphere. 20-25 beers. We ordered Orval and took a short break from the busy streets of Brussels. No rare beers! |

March 8, 2009 March 2009. Well hidden but with an ordinary atmosphere. An OK selection of bottled belgiums incl. W12. |

February 4, 2009 Great typical Belgium taverne style with a great atmosphere, I went there twice durring the x-mas holidays and it was always packed. Good selection of beers and to my supprise they had the Westverleteren 12 on the menu (10 Euros...oops), but they did not serve it in its glass, but never mind it was still excelent. I will go again. |

December 25, 2008 Do not go here expecting to be entertained, do expect the bar staff not to be able to speak English and spend all night chatting amongst themselves. The food only runs to cheese and crisps/chips.
Great place with superb beer, including the Westverleteren12, I always call in for at least one when in Brussels. |

June 2, 2008 Through the ancient stone arch. Down the alley. Through the ancient entrance. Enter into wood, copper, stained glass, and a wholly local experience. Short beer list. BUT! The list includes Westvleteren 12 for 10 EURO. With the possible exception of Toon, there is no more ancient venue for hiding away with a great beer. Didn’t see a cat though. So Toon is more cool in that way. |

March 11, 2007 [ Updated July 31, 2008 ] Small selection, but the atmosphere is hard to beat. An impressive place to sit and sip a Trappist. Also: Westmalle Dubbel on tap. Maybe this isn’t a place to come and tick off new beers, but it’s one of the coolest back-alley pubs in a town that’s full of them. |

August 17, 2006 Hidden down an alley just off the shopping street near the Grand Place. Well worth a stop in. Beer range not huge - about 20 beers, but served well. Service usually at table, but can go up to bar as well. Can be very busy at times, or else very quiet. Nice to enjoy the atmosphere and the beautiful decor with stained glass and paintings. This was a favourite drinking den of RAF officers in WWII i believe, and that’s why there are panelling and references to Scotch Gordons and other such drinks around. Run by two ladies, who speak some English. Very friendly and helpful once they get to know you ( you can tell i popped in every day when i was over there!!). Apparently there is cheese and crisps you can order, but i have never seen anyone eat in there.
Just a note - to gain access to the toilets you have to be buzzed through by the staff behind the bar, so just ask or give a little nod.
Very much a locals pub but lovely place to while a way a few hours. Prices in August 2006 were 3.5 Euros a beer for nearly all of the beers. Not bad for somewhere near the Grand Place. It is a great place to go for a quiet pint and to soak up some atmosphere. |

August 15, 2006 Might be cool if it were full, but I was there when it was empty (except for the old lady gossiping with the old lady behind the bar, both of whom stopped to stare at me when I ducked under the door). Beer list is not a reason to come here. Kind of cool ambiance, though. |
