January 26, 2008 Thanks once again to Tim Webb’s book for helping us find this gem. Happy to report that its interest in real beers has continued over the past few years. The selection is not huge, but there is plenty of quality. Dupont, Ellezelles, de la Senne and de Ranke all contributed to the lineup. Moinette is not so unusual, OK, but I was very happy to see Saison Dupont lined up with the others. Also, it seems that A La Mort Subite is not the only place to get the white lambic. It was on draft here, along with the faro and bottled kriek. Bustling, smoky atmosphere. Old football league tables on the wall. Spaghetti bolo and croques for dirt cheap. Very cool little spot that’s as authentic as it gets. Shame about all the smoke, though. |
