6 reviews for Karl Strauss Brewing Company, Carlsbad
| IrishBoy (65), Bakersfield, California | | July 6, 2009 Food and service were excellent. Beers were decent and I got three new ratings. Ahi sandwich was excellent and cooked nice and rare as it should be. | | JohnC (100), Mission Viejo, California | | August 1, 2007 I have had dinner here a couple of times. The food is good and like the other KS’ I’ve been to, the beer is serviceable. But if you’re in Carlsbad and want a pint, head over to pizza port. | | wetherel (80), Encinitas, California | | July 15, 2007 A great brewery/restaurant to visit in the area (the one is sorrento valley also great). Beers have good prices, but the food is a little pricy (and very good), so I order the excellent chicken strip appetizer as a meal. Ordering the beer sampler is great too. They only offer their own beers I think. There beers are sometimes good: I like Jeff and Jerr’s hootch and their hefeweizen. The location is nice to walk around and next to Legoland and the Carlsbad shopping outlet. I come here about once a month. I love it. | panaceamc (1), California does not count - explanation | | May 15, 2007 I work at this one, and first off I would just like to say that picture is from the LA Karl Strauss, not Carlsbad. Anyway, like I said, I work at this one and I think the food is great, the people are great, and the place has a great atmosphere. | Hair (5), Oceanside, North County SD, California does not count - explanation | | July 6, 2006 [ Updated August 11, 2007 ] Good food. Fairly upscale and not typical brewpub food. Expensive, but not overpriced. The beer is good if you like mostly German inspired beers. The beer is certainly well-made, though not extremely unique. | rmmello (8), Oakley, California does not count - explanation | | August 21, 2005 Good food, upscale from the standard pub fair, good steak & seafoods dishes. Beers loyal to the German style, good seasonal brews. They have a great Octoberfest menu not to be missed. Multiple locations around the area. |
