80 Nice liqour store with a wine bar. Decent beer selection. They have Pliny the Elder and Temptation here, so bump this one up. |
82 Well layed out and clean, but this is clearly a liquor store first. The beer, all refrigerated, is relegated to one wall. That said, they do have some nice selections. I picked up some Hair of the Dog Fred and North Coast barrel aged old stock when I was there. |
86 I call this place the Magic Carpet, because it’s where I scored my first Belgian beers around two years ago. Great selection of imports and Americans, along with some really rare stuff that goes very fast. Get on Michael’s email list, and you won’t miss out on the better stuff. |

The beer section is to the right and goes along the back wall on the right side. The selection is quite eclectic. A decent smattering of German and Belgian beers, a pretty good good collection of American brews, including plenty of RR, Stone, Maui, Allagash, Lagunitas, etc.
There were a lot of empty slots, so it looks like the supplies tend to be limited and get snatched up pretty quickly.
The staff was friendly and asked if I needed help, but I was mostly just browsing and not looking for anything in particular.
The prices were pretty much standard, which is always nice to see.
I wouldn’t drive out to Glendale just for this store, but it’s certainly a good spot if you’re in the area. |
74 Classy place. If I were living in Glendale, I’d do plenty of liqour shopping here, but it’s certainly not a destination spot for beer. They have a respectable selection at fair prices and a nice atmosphere, but it doesn’t warrent a 90+ rating. |
88 The best beer store in Glandale PERIOD!
Great selection. Decent prices. Always some surprising must-haves.
Go to Red Carpet, you’ll like it. |
86 Like this place a lot - very classy ambiance and decor. They put a lot of effort into their beers, going out of their way to stock a few geuzes and a few more Allagash than are common. Not as good as Vendome NoHo on European and Japanese offerings, but who is? Very solid Cali selection with all AleSmiths and as many Alpine as I have seen in one place. |
84 A very, very good place. Tons of wine, sake, and beer. Parking lot out side. Lots of good stuff. I picked up Ommegang Biere de Mars and Saison de Lente. Had a good collection of California stuff (full Bruery, full Alesmith and full Lost Abbey/Port lineups, which are hard to find all at the same place. Some special release Stone’s too. Alpine is there as well). Good collection of Lambics too. Highly recommended if you are in the area. |
84 All of their beer is kept in coolers along one wall. The selection isn’t the largest I’ve ever seen, however it is one of the best selections of beer - especially for a wine shop! Lots of California offerings from big to small - Stone, Sierra Nevada, Anchor, The Bruery, AleSmith, Bear Republic, etc. They also have a great selection of Belgians, a few hard to find lambics, and some random stuff I’d never seen. Service was exceptional - everyone I talked to seemed to know beer and had some recommendations for me. If you are in the area, be sure to stop by. |
