11/11/2007 10:43:04 PM, sunday, november 11, 2007 The ambiance is a parking lot surrounded by a chain link fence. But the beer is good and very reasonably priced, and the company is always fun. People are friendly and social, and typically share everything they bring. Great way to finish the week and welcome in the weekend!
11/12/2006 4:57:49 PM, sunday, november 12, 2006 Like seven beers on draft for the Friday 4-7 PM tasting. Pat does a great job on the BBQ, but you better pay attention because the food disappears as sonn as it hits the serving table! Great fun and comeraderie.
8/4/2006 6:44:01 PM, friday, august 04, 2006 Ambiance was great considering you drink in the parking lot. The service was excellent considering how many people were there. THe selection was pretty good, not a bad one in the bunch. I never saw any food myself. Definitly a cool place and a good deal on beer!
6/24/2006 1:36:07 AM, saturday, june 24, 2006 Drake’s is becoming known for it’s consistently fine brews, overseen by Rodger, who is a very dedicated and skilled brewmaster. Friday afternoons at 4pm a party breaks out in the parking lot. The regulars bring assorted eats and various meats are barbequed and placed on the community table for all to enjoy. Drake’s sets up a bar to serve several of its beers at a very reasonable price. It’s great fun!
8/24/2005 3:01:36 PM, wednesday, august 24, 2005 Drakes is a small brewery tucked behind the Wallmart in San Leandro. They have an ‘open house” most every Friday night (4PM to 7PM) in the parking lot of the brewery. Buy a mug for $3 and 5 taster tokens for a $1 each, and get a pint of Drakes Beer. There is a food crew, which is not associated with the brewery that cooks food for the folks showing up. Bring stuff along and they will cook it up for the group. It’s a very relaxed and casual atmosphere. Bring your own lawn chairs! Enjoy some beer and some eats.
