We were happy to stumble to this place by chance. Walking on Main Street, we just saw it across and thought: ’ Hey, isn’t that the place that made it in Ale Street News top 125 places to have a beer a year or two ago?’ Well indeed it was. Stumbling in, it has a neighborhood feel you would not expect in a LA beach city. People are friendly, standing behind the bar, talking loud, it is immediately comfortable. The beer list may not be extraordinary, but it had its charms with stuff like Old Rasputin, beers from The Bruery and the likes. Service was very prompt, helpful, interested. And as a bonus, the food was also well seasoned, tasty, not too fat. A much appreciated experience, but I could not necessarily make a large detour to get here. Still, if you’re in the area, it’s an excellent stop.

Stopped in for a couple of beers with a friend of mine. Started off with a pint of arrogant bastard ale, then had a pint of Anderson Valley Oatmeal Stout. Good selection of other beers on tap as well. What made the evening special was a bottle of consecration that was split between me and my buddy. It was batch 2 - had batch 1 a week earlier - so it was interesting tasting the difference. Munched on some fried calamari with the consecration - pretty good - wish i could have tried more food though. Redhead bartender was very nice, and very efficient. Knew beers to a descent degree. Definitely going to go back there.

Stopped in here for a beer while shopping on Main Street. Nice selection of west coast craft beers, a couple if Belgians and a decent bottle selection. Staff was nice and while the place was on the small side it had a nice feel to it. Proper glassware. I did not have any food.

Comfortable place with a surprisingly knowledgable staff. One of the better selections of draft beers in town. Food was ok, but I bet I could have done better than fish and chips.

Decent little place. Bar is cool, good number of excellent taps. They also offer draft samplers (pick any 5 beers - 4oz each for $7). Unfortunately, Belgian-style beers are not included in the samplers (??? there were some belgian-style and expensive beers in the regular line-up that are allowed - not sure the logic behind the split...). I just had appetizers - ahi tuna and some quesadillas (regular cheese and fancy goat cheese quesadillas...). All was decent. I had my 3.5-year-old, so the place really is a pub/restaurant that is kid-friendly (despite the checkboxes you’ll see on this listing). Overall, nice place. Probably the best place if you want a pint after a day at the beach there.

Solid selection, especially in bottles, but a good range of draught beers. Fair prices. Staff was helpful if sometimes distracted. A little small, and very loud during my trip (possibly due to an event of some sort). Very tight space.

Great brew choices with 18 or so on tap, some changing monthly. Busy place with some SaMo Main Street yuppies. Good food leaning to the healthy Mex. Dress up or dress down, it don’t matter none. Good Beertenderette who knows her suds.

Smallish place. Public parking accross the street. Good food, had the calamari to start and a steak sandwich which were great. Beer selection was small but good. I had DFH 90, Dales Pale, and Stone 12 on tap. Expensive meal though.

Small narrow place with a large food menu with a variety of good options and a good bit of seafood. Wild samon was good, served with lots of fresh veggies, everything seemed very fresh and homemade. A bit cramped at 6 on a Friday trying to eat at the bar, but not uncomfortable. Would be a nice place to have in the nieghborhood. Tap selection is good, nothing amazing with some belgian options on draft as well that are fairly basic. Their bottles are almost all belgian, once again nothing rare but good solid beers.
