RateBeer Brew Tour Guide's Comments
The pizza port in Solana beach is a must, even if you have to drive the 30 minutes from downtown San Diego. Of the two Pizza Ports, this one is the best; not only is it closer to San Diego, but they have a better selection of brews. They offer great pizza and superb beer in a party atmosphere with long picnic tables and TV’s in all the corners.
The beer selections change often so you never know what you might find. In addition to their interesting selection of house beers which include beligian strongs, saisons, american strong ales, barley wines, as well as the usual pale ale, stouts, porters, etc., They have a pretty decent selection of other micros from throughout California including some rarities. Definitely **A Must see**

| hoffshow | Another great Pizza Port spot. Great beer selection & tasty pizza. Not much else can be said.

| paytoplay | Great place to grab a bite and a beer. More of a food and family place than a beer bar. Though I was there on a weekend afternoon. Awesome spot to pick up the new release Pizza Port brews in bottles at a great price. A buck or more less than most retailers on the 2nd Anniversary Ale specifically. Not a lot of bottles to choose from. My rating might be lower than others but I’m looking for lots and lots of beers to choose from and a comfortable place to sit. Pizza Port swings further to the Pizza rather than the Port and there’s nothing wrong with that.

| mmtmatrix | While living in the infamy of bigger brothers, it’s still not a bad place to check out. A bit too trendy (area), but as to be expected, good food and decent beer when I was there, cheers..

AmEricanbrew | This Pizza Ports dark, dank atmosphere is quite a contrast to the bright, beautiful beach just a block or so away. Best thing here are the great PP tap brews.

stefanje | Small cramped dirty beach place with picnic tables. That aside, there is great pizza and great beer here. No real service to speak of you order your pizza and beer at the bar. They blast your name over a PA when your pizza is ready. A bunch of noisy arcade games at the back of the dinning room assist in destroying all semblance of ambiance.

doubleo | I would say that the Tour Guide’s comments are incorrect. PP Carlsbad has double the brews on tap(easily) that PP SOlana Beach does. PP Solana Beach is a more family friendly place with less seating than C’Bad and more kid oriented stuff. PPSB consistently has Swami’s IPA which is a definite plus, but if you’re looking for selection, and room to spread out, go to PP C’Bad.

Snojerk321 | I LOVE Pizza Port!! Not only do they brew world class beer, The pizza is the best I’ve ever had!! It gets a little warm and stuffy inside but, who cares. Great beer , great pizza, and hot chicks.......what more could you want. A must see.

swoopjones | Great Pizza try the San Francisco. Good tap selection for the East Coaster who hasn t had any of these. Swamis IPA & Hop through it DIPA were great. Sierra 20th Street Pale also on tap. Wish I had more time to try more selections. Cool place

kwoeltje | picnic tables and order at the bar, so not long on ambiance, although eating outside is great when the weather is nice. Excellent pizza, nice beer selection -both Pizza Port brews and others. They had a cask ale when I was there. I’ll definitely go again when I’m in the area.

kmweaver | The Solana Beach location was definitely a let-down after Carlsbad: much smaller, far fewer beers available, and the appearance of a run-down beachside arcade. There was a homeless dude asking for pizza (not that there’s anything wrong with homeless dudes, it’s just not exactly an extra point for ambiance). Didn’t try the pizza at this location, although I’d imagine it’s just about as good as at Carlsbad. Minimal service at the bar, which wasn’t much to speak of (dark, cramped, overlooking ugly equipment, and barely accessible). The Stunna Shade Stout was below average for an 8% stout, while the Low Tide Fresh-hop Pale Ale (on cask or draft) was solid. Much smaller taplist than Carlsbad. We didn’t last very long here.
