BuckeyeSammy (6), New York City, New York does not count | | May 8, 2008 Great selection here and a very knowledgeable staff. They also have a bunch of cellared stuff hidden in the back. Picked up some Russian river, Lost abbey, and pizza port stuff here. Its really just your average liquor store, but with a full wall of coolers with a huge selection of beer. One of the largest beer selections I have come across. | | Charlzm (32), Los Angeles, California | | February 10, 2008 [ Updated February 24, 2008 ] Visited on 02/10/08. Ambiance: it’s a liquor store and convenience market, an old school version of 7-11 without the steam tables, soda fountains or hot dog rollers. Service: Joe is da man. he spotted my Stone T-shirt before I was even tfifteen feet inside and was very helpful and talkative. I could tell this is a guy I would love to share a few beers and afternoon with at a backyard BBQ. Selection: awesome. Worth the 25 mile drive from where I live. Lots of Dogfish Head, Great Divide and some Three Floyds were the hard-to-find-in-California highlights. Also fully stocked on Stone, Alesmith, Sierra Nevada, etc... Everything is refrigerated. Neck and neck with Lone Hill Liquor as best beer retail in the greater L.A. area. | | riversideAK (12), Shoreline, Washington | | January 28, 2008 A little off the beaten path for some, but not too far from Riverside. Great service. Great selection. Pretty much everything available in So Cal plus some Three Floyds, Goose Island, Great Lakes, Founders, DFH, and a Southern Tier Oat! One of the last beers I expected to see actually. Joe was awesome! Super friendly, helpful etc. He gave me a Great Lakes Blackout Stout for free because it as my first time there. He also said he would look into trying a few things I asked for. | | Naven (48), San Diego, California | | December 16, 2007 Nice little liquor store, with tons of great beers. They have several different options from the Midwest and East coast, including 3 Floyds, Dogfish Head and Goose Island. These are beers which are not normally sold in California, so you gotta wonder how they made their way into this store, but rules be damned. Prices are not cheap for these products. I paid $17 for a six pack of Alpha King. But, if you’re not looking to empty your bank account, they do have lots of other options, and many great local beers. Prices are reasonable for these beers, and the selection is awesome. Service is friendly and helpful. | drinkerofbeers (1), California does not count | | August 15, 2007 Anyone remotely close to this place must check it out. Hidden in residential Walnut, this place has a crazy selection of hard to find beers at fair prices. Joe is knowledgeable, cool and always willing to help you find the right brew. This place deserves to be in the top 5 places to buy a beer in So Cal. If you live anywhere in So Cal this liquor store will not disappoint. | | Saarlander (17), The Saarland, Germany | | August 13, 2007 A liquor store, abit out of the way, but close to my house, and very decent selection, lots of Midwest stuff, Like Behemouth for 23.00$, but plenty of great Cali stuff too, all Moylan’s, Anderson valley, Alesmith, etc. Euro stuff is ok too, nice people, fair prices for the local stuff, rare beers to California can be had at a premium, a hidden gem for some. | alexanderj (9), San Diego, California does not count | | July 12, 2007 Read about this on the other beer website. Great place, similar to Lone Hill in Glendora. Has beers from 3Floyds, Great Lakes, Goose Island, DFH and Victory. The good thing about this place is that they have more singles of those beers than I saw at Lone Hill. The prices ranged from 2.99 (most of them) to 4.99. They also had the local stuff you would look for such as Pizza Port, Alesmith and Stone. The ambience is not world class, but who really cares since the beer selection is. Can’t recall the quality of the European beers because I wasn’t there for that. If you live in the area it is definitely worth a visit, and probably if you live a little further away. |
